She was a tall dark beauty, crystal clear blue eyes. Ruby red lips. A smile that brightened any room. Dark brown hair that flowed down past her bottom. The perfect life. Friends with everyone she came into contact with. Money. But not everything was as it seemed. Distress fell apon her at a very young age.
The girl named Lela found out her life would never be the same again. At the age of 10 she became very ill. Lela found out she was schizophrenic. The doctor said it was a light case but could worsen as she grows. She became depressed. Everyone at school thought she was weird. People that walked pass her gave her looks of disgust. Turning their heads the the other way when she went by. Her parents moved her far away so she couldn't get hurt. Always telling her one day she will learn to control the visions, but Lela knew otherwise she wouldn't. She was cursed forever with this horrible turn on reality.
Lela started doing bad in school. Her A+ grades fell to D- work. She started using drugs to lessen the pain and confusion. At times she just wanted her life to end. Lela found poetry and darkness to be her best friend now. She would stay up in her room all day and night just writing. Every piece of writing had water drops from the lonely tears that slide down her cheeks everyday. Her parents thought counseling may help the pain. Lela hated the idea, but didn't refuse. She wanted the visions to leave or at least decrease.
So Lela went to her counseler everyday. She would just sit there quietly, looking out the window. She found it hard to concentrate; grasp what was really happening compared to what wasn't. She dazed out then suddenly she heard a sharp voice. "Lela!", said her counseler Miss Honey. " You need to try to focus, now come sit here I need to ask you something. " Lela obeyed then walked over to the red velvet chair in front of Miss Honey's desk. She looked up at her sadly. Miss Honey asked in a serious tone but smiling, "Lela where do you see yourself in the near future?" Lela looked up and said quietly to her. "Dead."
Miss Honey had a scared look and quickly but causally put the papers in her briefcase. She then walked to the door ushering Lela out. "I think that's enough for today Lela..." Lela slowly walked out the door telling herself she will never come back.
