Just like old times

I woke up to my phone buzzing on the bed side table. Making sure not to wake Rosie or Sally I swung my legs out of bed and out to the hall. It was about 9:30 in the morning, who could be calling? I t was the number of the owner of the flat I out in an offer for.

"Hello?" I said answering the phone still half asleep yawning while I walked to the kitchen.

"Hello is this Sally?" The man said his deep voice startling me a bit.

"Yes this is." I took out a tea bag and started boiling some water.

"Well I see you have put in an offer for this apartment and seems to me you're the only one since the other man dropped his offer. So, congratulations you've got the apartment!" He had the same even tone the entire time.

"Really? Wow thank you so much!" I was trying to keep my voice down but I was so excited!

"Do you think you can come around at about 2 to sign the papers and pick up the keys?" He said, he sounded eager to get off the phone like he was busy.

"Yes that sounds great!" I said shrieking.

"Okay sees you then, bye." And he hung up.

I was jumping up and down trying to get the excitement out. I wanted to call Niall but I remembered the time distance and how early it was in America. Plus, I hadn't even told him I put in an offer for my own apartment.

"Hey Sally what are you so happy about?" Asked Rosie walking into the kitchen tying her robe.

"I got the apartment!" I practically screamed running toward her and hugging her tightly.

"No way! Congrats girl!" We were doing are happy dance.

"I have to go down at 2 today to sign and get the keys. I'm going to miss living with you!" I said nudging her and giggling. I made me and Rosie tea and we sat down.

"So are you going to bring Sally with you?" She said sipping at the steaming tea.

"Well of course! She's really grown on me; we just get on really well together." I said smiling at all the fun games we've played.

"How do you think" She paused a bit before finishing, "Niall will react to this?" She said playing with her finger on the ring of the mug.

"Well I haven't mentioned anything about it to him. I mean, I am sure he won't mind right?" I said doubting what his reaction would be.

"Yeah I guess. Well I have got to get ready I promised my little sister I would go to her play this afternoon." She said sighing and standing up. She trudged down the hall and into the bathroom to shower.

I stood up and cleaned up the tea and walked into the bedroom. Sally was still sleeping and I didn't want to wale her up but she woke up when I was pulling out my clothes.

"Good morning Sally." I said shooting her a smile.

"Hi Sam!" She said giggling. She rolled out of bed onto the floor and I laughed as she rolled over and made a funny face at me. "Hey Sam I want to tell you something." She said as she sat up.

"Yeah sure kiddo what is it?" I took a seat next to her on the floor.

"I'm sorry and thank you." She said looking at her lap twiddling her fingers.

"Sally, I already told you I forgive you, and don't mention it. Listen, were going to be moving but just me and you. I got us an apartment." I said throwing my ar around her giving a small squeeze.

"Really? Wow Sam, but I can't stay with you I think you should bring me to an adoption center." She sighed.

"No way! I would never the chances of a kid your age getting adopted is very slim. I kind of well I don't know, look at you like a little sister Sally." She looked up at me and smiled.

"Thanks Sam, but one day I will make it up to you I promise."

I stood up and helped Sally up. She sat down in the living room and watched television and I got dressed. I made her some breakfast and she ate it quite quickly. It was about 11 o'clock now so I decided to give Niall a call to see if he was up. The phone barely got through the first ring before someone picked up.

"Hey babe, miss you!" He sounded so happy but at the same time sad.

"Hi I miss you to!" It had been forever since I had seen Niall, or so it seemed.

"I'm coming back early! I'll be back by Monday afternoon! Two more days till I get to kiss you!" He was practically screaming down the phone. The thought of giving Niall a kiss made my stomach flutter, it had been so long.

"Yay! I can't wait and guess what!" He would never guess I got an apartment.

"You got an apartment!" He said laughing as if it was obvious.

"What…How did you know?" I said confused as ever.

Babe, you're Niall Horan's girlfriend the press has been stalking you if you haven't noticed." He was laughing uncontrollably now at my surprised voice.

"Wow really?" I couldn't believe it. I wonder if they knew anything about Sally. No, I am sure Niall would have said something.

"Yeah!" He said

"Hey Sam!" A set of voices over took the phone.

"Hey babe what's cracka lackin'?" Louis said in his humorous voice.

"Oh you know the usual!" It was so good to talk to the boys again. We talked a little longer on the phone before I realized the time.

"Oh man, Sorry babe I really got to go! Love you bye!" I hung up before waiting for a reply. It was 1:30 and I had completely forgotten to get Sally ready. Rosie had left and I hadn't even noticed.

I looked for Sally in the living room but she wasn't there. Where was she?

"Sally!" I yelled before I heard a voice reply from the bathroom.

"In here Sammy!"

I walked into the bathroom and there was Sally dressed in a pink skirt with a white flowery top and a denim jacket. She had her little pink flats on and was doing her hair. Her hair was so curly and I watched as she put a little pink flower in her hair. Too cute!

"Look how adorable you look!" I said pinching her cheeks.

"Hey watch the cheeks!" She said giving a little giggle before hopping down off the counter.

I got my shoes on and grabbed my keys. "Okay let's go Sally!" She hopped right along in front of me and as I opened the door of the apartment building there was a swarm of people. Cameras flashing people yelling.

"What the-"I whispered to myself before grabbing Sally's hand and holding tight. There was no way we would make it through this mess.
