Different - Evie's Sister

Chapter 3

Four teens stepped out of the shadows, two boys and two girls. One of the girls had dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a sky blue illusion shirt, azure blue pegged pants and black converse shoes. The other girl had blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a violet jumpsuit and lilac oxford shoes. One of the boys had blonde hair and black eyes. He was wearing a candy red polo shirt, crimson red skinny jeans and black sneakers. The last teen had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing an ash grey raglan shirt, porpoise grey regular jeans and black oxford shoes.

"What's Penny doing here, Soph?" The purple girl asked.

"She needs our help." Sophie looked at the others. "Purple girl is Taylor, blue girl is Julia, red boy is Noah and grey is Benjamin."

"Hi, I'm Ariana, this is my big sister Evie and that's Mal, Jay and Carlos." Ariana smiled.

"What help do you need, Penny?" Noah asked.

"Ari has lung cancer and we need to find the cure."

"Nopity nope nope." Taylor crossed her arms.

"Please. I don't want my sister to die." Evie pleaded.

"It's not as if we're going on a suicide mission." Sophie rolled her eyes.

"We just want help." Jay stepped forward. "All we want is for Ari to have a cure for her cancer."

"Oh god." Ari ran into the shadows.

"Ari!" Penny and Evie went to help her. Everyone cringed when they heard Ariana throw up.

"You owe us." Mal crossed her arms.

"Why?" Benjamin asked.

"Because we believe in you, therefore keeping you alive. Do us a favour and keep our best friends sister alive." Carlos smirked.

"Alright. Come with us." Julia sighed.

"E, we'll be back in a minute!" Mal smiled.

"Ok!" Evie held back Ari's hair. Mal, Jay and Carlos were led away.

"Our parents are in charge of the children around the world. After they couldn't do it anymore, we took over. My dad is Jackson Overland Frost, the guardian of fun, Ben's dad is the E. Aster Bunnymund, guardian of hope, Noah's dad is Nicholas St. North, guardian of wonder, Taylor's dad is Toothiana, guardian of memories and Sophie's dad is Sanderson Mansnoozie." Julia smiled.

"We have no idea who they are." Jay chuckled.

"Jack Frost, Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy and Sandman." Taylor stopped. She started squirming and she looked really uncomfortable. "Can someone rip two holes in my shirt?" Jay made two holes in the back of her shirt. Two wings sprung free. "That's better." She started to fly. "I can only go for a certain amount of time before my wings start getting uncomfortable. Gotta fit in with the real world."

"Can you reach that scroll?" Julia pointed to a scroll.

"Yeah." Taylor grabbed it and she gave it to Julia.

"What does it say?" Carlos asked.

"The best treatment will be surgery." Julia tossed the scroll to Taylor.

"Don't worry. We might be able to. Julia can remove the tube by freezing it." Noah smiled.

"I'm afraid Penny will have to do it." Julia sighed.

"Penelope!?" Her friends shouted in surprise.

"She can use her dark magic to remove the tube." Julia smiled.

"As long as she doesn't kill Ari, that's fine with Evie." Jay looked at Mal.

"How are we going to tell, E?" Mal asked.

"Tell me what?" Evie stood behind them.

"They can help Ari." Carlos smiled.

"Yay!" Evie grinned and she hugged Taylor 'cause why not?

"But they will have to remove her lung tube with Penny's dark magic." Carlos sighed.

"Will Ari live? I don't want to loose her." Evie looked at Julia.

"She'll live." Julia smiled.

"Good. Can we do it now?" Evie asked.

"If Penny and Ari are up to it." Noah sighed.

"Let's go break the news to her." Evie led everyone to her sister. She was still vomiting and her hair was falling to the ground. "Ari?"

"Yeah?" Ari coughed.

"There is a way to cure your cancer but it involves Penny using her dark magic to remove your lung tube."

"Will I die?" Ari asked.

"No." Mal went to help her.

"Do you trust me?" Penny asked Ari.

"If you promise to be careful, then yeah." Ari smiled.

"Sophie." Penny nodded at Sophie. Sophie threw a sand ball at Ariana and she fell asleep.

"I did it!" Sophie cheered.

"Save your cheering." Penny spat. "Give me some privacy." The others left her.
