Blaise was checking the time every now and then and pacing near the threshold. Hermione noticed this and walked up to him, " what's the matter Blaise everything okay "
" oh yeah, yeah of course 'mione, you go enjoy the party everything's okay really "
She smiled and shrugged before walking away to where Ginny was arranging the flowers in the vases..
" Gin, is it just me or is Blaise really worried about something "
Ginny looked at Blaise before turning back to her friend and said " nah mione I think it's just the anxiety before the engagement you know.. How Harry and I went through before ours "
" yeah it was a nightmare " agreed Hermione and soon forgot about Blaise's worried stance. Soon a lot of people arrived at the venue many of them were slytherins no surprises there.
The room was full of people from everywhere as the party was a big affair and had even slashed everywhere on the daily prophet, but it made Hermione claustrophobic so she thought to take a walk out on the lawns. She saw someone apparating right a few paces away from herself, it was dark but the trees were lit with fairy lights so giving it the impression of thousands of fireflies dancing in the dark.
The man walked up to her and it seemed like he hasn't noticed her yet, he was busy admiring the manor and the lawns. Hermione took the chance to admire the man, he was tall, well built lean body, toned muscles, sculpted nose, hooded grey blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, and wore a pair of big black rimmed glasses. He was dressed down in classic yet casuals, he wore blue t shirt and black jeans over a navy blue jacket to go along with the black sneakers.
He finally turned around and saw a girl standing right behind him, he wasn't expecting anyone to be out there in the lawns but anyways, the girl was cute, she had soft brown wavy Bob haircut, and was dressed in a florel printed white sleeveless frock with black heels.
" um, is the party still on"
" heah it is, feel free to join in" she said, still looking at him, he didn't know who she was so he decided to walk in the manor, and she followed.
Draco walked into the room full of thousands of people. Whoo it was a hell lot kf people and.. Oh there he is. Ignoring the stares of everyone he walked up to his old mate. Draco tapped him on the shoulder and waited as he turned around,
Blaise blinked and looked at him from up and down three times.
" Merlin's rainbow coloured beard, Draco is that really you! "
" yep, that's me " he said with his old smirk.
" you are changed, I mean you are so calm now! And you look so mature for a twenty two year old young wizard "
Draco rolled his eyes, only if Blaise knew how calm he is " whatever B, where's Pansy "
" oh um..yeah there she is with Hermione and Ginny " said Blaise and pointed out to where a young women with wavy black hair dressed in black shimmering gown was standing slang with a tall girl with straight red hair dressed in coffee coloured dress and that cute girl, Draco had met outside the manor,
He walked up to the ladies and watched as they stopped talking as soon as he came closer to them,
" hey Pans, long time huh "
She didn't needed any more introduction, as she jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly,
" OMG you came, you came, I mean you actually came! " she squealed happily,
He turned for the rest of the girls and greeted them like wise, " hey Granger, weasley long time huh "
" malfoy! " they chorused together, making him laugh. He spotted kingsley talking to some ministry people, so he waved the girls good bye before walking up to the man.
" Kingsley, can I have a word with you in private " he said,
The man turned to him in surprise " malfoy, oh wasn't expecting you here though anyways sure why not "
The two men walked kit of the manor and into the lawns, Draco checked around themselves for anyone evesdroping before turning to the older man and saying,
" Kingsley, the man who was responsible for the breach of wizarding secrecy has been found dead in his apartment, it appears that the man knew he won't be lucky for a long time so he had taken up acquaintance from a muggle to further damage the plan "
" what " exclaimed Kingsley in outrage " what the hell are we supposed to do now that the muggle has been given the knowledge of the secrecy damn it " he cursed and ran his hands through his hair in frustration, Draco unlike him was calm and collected,
" don't need to worry, I got hold of him today just before I came here, he's safely gagged in my place by now " said Draco.
Kingsley gaped at the young man in front of him before nodding, " you can do whatever you want as its your case, but don't forget it's a high profile case after all okay "
Draco nodded before reentering the manor with Kingsley Shaklebolt.
Hermione walked into the washroom, only to find malfoy washing the stain know his shirt,
" oh I'm sorry I'll just.. "
" no it's fine it's okay, feel free to use I'm just leaving anyways " said Draco and rubbed the stain one last time.
" you know you can use magic to get rid of it " Hermione pointed out while washing her hands beside him.
Living three years in the muggle world, he occasionally forget that he's a wizard, he can't exactly tell her that so instead he just chuckled and shut the tap.
As soon as they stepped out, they bumped into a worried looking Pansy Parkinson
" everything okay Pansy" asked Hermione.
She shook her head before saying " we forgot the most important thing, the rings! We had been so busy to not take out time to select the rings "
" how can you be so careless " starded Draco,
" look you can scold me all you want, but first please help me please "
Draco rolled his eyes " what do you want me to do then "
She thought for a minute before saying " I want you to go get the rings, it doesn't have to be exactly perfect we just need the rings, we can modify it later "
Draco nodded and turned to leave but she stopped him, " take Hermione with you too, she knows my preferences well "
Hermione rolled her eyes before walking away with him .
