He tightened his grip on my waist as I wrapped my arms around his neck. Continuous streams of tears ran down my cheeks as never ending sobs kept erupting from my lips.
I cried my heart out, staining his shirt with my tears. He didn't care but instead continued rubbing my back and whisper sweet nothings in my ears.
As my sobs died down, he pulled away to look into my eyes.
"I can't just stand here and look at you crying. I need to know what's going on. I'm your mate, don't I deserve to know?"
He was right, he was my mate and he deserved to know. But I wasn't ready. I feared he would reject me the moment he got to know what happened with me.
I felt dirty, my body felt dirty after that incident. I didn't have the guts to face a rejection, there were already many problems on my plate.
"I know you are not ready but my wolf is getting restless. He feels the need to protect you. You can trust me,I promise I won't judge you." My eyes flew to his violet ones as he pleaded.
I nodded as I settled on the bed, crossing my legs. It's going to take a lot of time.
"Nothing is worse for a girl than an unwanted touch. A few weeks ago, I was walking back home from the market. I thought of taking the shorter route to reach home sooner. But a man caught up with me midway and he began taking advantage of me-"
I was cutoff by a lamp shattering on the floor. I looked up to two black pools on Alexander's face. I shut my eyes in fear as tears fell down like rain.
I knew this would happen, now he would reject me. I pictured Alexander growling those words, "I Alexander Knight, Royal Prince and soon to be King reject Jenny Anderson as my mate."
An involuntary sob escaped my lips.
Next moment, I was pulled into a lap as two warm arms wrapped themselves around my waist.
I opened my eyes and gasped as I found myself on Alexander's lap, his face pressed to my left shoulder. His fingers drew smooth circles on my waist as his minty fresh scent soothed me.
"Continue" He whispered in my hair as I closed my eyes again, relishing the warmth his body provided.
"Samuel reached there on time. He killed that man and saved me from getting raped."
Alexander growled beside me, "I would have killed him if Samuel hadn't."
"But he-he's alive!" I stammered in fear. I could feel Alexander go stiff beside me.
"But you said Samuel killed him?" He asked in my hair as he pulled me closer.
"Yes, Samuel killed him! But I don't know how I saw him again. Th-that limo I came in, it's driver was replaced by that man. I-I saw him when I was going back." I whispered back.
"So that's why you had a panic attack?"
I nodded, "How can he be alive? Samuel killed him! I know you won't trust me but I saw him!"
He placed a kiss on my left shoulder causing a pleasurable shiver to run down my spine.
"I trust you Jen. But if you saw him again, then that gives only one conclusion."
I turned to him as my eyebrows furrowed.
"What?"
"He was a witch."
