Another day of school, I put my things away in a very boring and plain locker- I haven’t had time to decorate it. I closed my locker and Jer was standing there, scaring me.

“You’ve been avoiding me,” He stated, staring at me. I looked down trying to walk away from him, but he followed.

“No,I wasn’t. I was just busy, that’s all,” I said, sitting down on a bench in the courtyard.

“Yes, you were, you’re a horrible liar. I know you were with Elena and her friends. Why didn’t you answer any of my phone calls or text messages? Is it because of the kiss? I didn’t mean to make it awkward or anything, I’m sorry!” He said sitting down across from.

“I’m sorry,” I said, smiling guiltily “Aren’t you supposed to be in class right now?”

“We have the same schedule remember? We have free period right now” I nodded, grabbing out some history homework I didn’t do- oops!

“So you were avoiding me? Why?” He asked me.

“It wasn’t the kiss, it was great. But I was thinking about it and-“ “ You regret it?” He said sounding upset.

“No, I don’t regret it, I mean I really enjoyed it, but you’re one of my best friends and I really don’t want to lose that. Okay? That’s my reason. And plus, you can do better than me, trust me. I’m damaged goods” I told him. He slightly laughed at that.

“Damaged goods? How old are you? What does that even mean?” He laughed. I shook my head, laughing and changed the subject to something else. I wasn’t quite ready to tell him about my errrmm “hairy” problem. See, my family isn’t really normal; we’re born werewolves. Not everyone in my family becomes werewolves, but some of are, and I just happen to be one of the ones that got “lucky”/cursed I guess, however, you want to see it. We don’t turn into full werewolves, well I can, I don’t know how but I can. I’m in total control and can transform whenever I need to.

Later that day, I sat in the apartment skype-ing my friend, Jackson, from back home.

“Are you sure you don’t want to come tonight, Maya? I’m pretty sure It’d be good for you” Dad asked, rushing around the apartment getting himself ready. I nodded. I told my dad I had tons of homework to do, but truthfully I was just too lazy to go to career night.

“Maya, you should have seen McCall in practice. I swear, he’s taking something, seriously. I don’t know what it is, but I’m gonna find out” Jackson droned on and on about this boy Scott, one of my old classmates from Beacon Hills where I was born.

“Jackson? Seriously? You’re still on this?” I asked. I mean, come one Jackson was/is one of Beacon Hills High School Lacrosse star players- See in Beacon Hills, Lacrosse, is a HUGE thing like Football or Baseball.

“I’m heading out Maya!” My dad said coming towards me and kissing my temple, “Jackson” He nodded towards the computer. “Mr. Saltzman” Jackson nodded back. With that my dad left.

“Does he still not like me?” Jackson asked after my dad left. I laughed.

“No, it's not that he doesn’t like you he just doesn’t know you” I said. “So have you seen Stiles? How is he?”

“You’re still hung up on Stilinski?” Jackson asked, laughing like I had said some funny joke.

“He’s cute, so sue me. It's not like I’m in love with him or anything its just a schoolgirl crush, trust me” I said.

“Remember when you used to have the biggest crush on me when we were 11? Right before you moved away? He asked. I started blushing from embarrassment. His phone rang. He glanced at it and made a face I couldn’t quite read.

“Lydia?” I asked, smirking. He gave me a look and texted who I’m guessing was Lydia back.

“How is she doing anyway? She hasn’t been texting me back” I asked him. My phone dinged. It was, Tyler? Hmm, wonder what he wants.

“Who’s that?” Jackson asked smirking. I rolled my eyes at him.

“It's just a friend from school” I told him.

To: Maya

From: Ty

Hey! Are you coming to career night? I wanted to talk to you. Please with a cherry on top?

To: Ty

From: Maya

Give me half an hour. I’ll meet you there.

“Judging by that smile, I’m guessing it’s a boy a really cute boy?” He stated. Was I smiling? I raised my eyebrow at him and started laughing.

“Whatever Dorkwad! I have to go. Tell Lydia and Danny I said Hi! Bye Jax!” I told him before hanging up and going to get changed and head to the Career Fair to see what Ty wanted.

-

I headed around back to where Tyler said he would meet me. I spotted him and Jeremy? Wonder what’s going on. As I got closer I saw that they were in an argument of some kind. Then Tyler punched Jeremy in the face.

“Ty! What the hell!” I pulled Tyler away from Jeremy, so that nothing more could happen. Tyler grabbed my wrist before I could even check on Jeremy and pulled me towards the courtyard. We sat a table in silence. I leaned back and looked up towards the sky, it was a full moon.

“Are you okay?” I asked Tyler looking at him.

“Yeah. I just don’t know what it is. I just keep lashing out at people. I don’t mean to, but it just happens. Like last week we got into a fight. I honestly didn’t mean any of it. I’m sorry for everything I said it was just the heat of the moment-“ I cut him off “Ty its fine seriously, don’t even worry about it”

“So what’s the deal with you and Gilbert, he’s been looking at you like a lost puppy all week.” He laughed.

“You were watching me?” I teased. He looked away from me.

“I’ve been trying to find the nads to apologize to you all week and every time I thought I found some balls, there he was near you staring at you.”

“We had a moment- well a moment this past weekend and it made me feel awkward, so I started avoiding him. We cleared everything up today and we’re friends again.” I explained to him. He looked like he was deep in thought then started smirking again, his usual Tyler Lockwood smirk.

“Just friends, huh?” He asked, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. Thank god it was pretty dark and he couldn’t see me blushing.

“Yes, we’re just friends nothing more and nothing less” I said. The career fair was ending and we went in search of my father, but they both seemed to have disappeared (later I found out my dad has killed Jenna’s ex-boyfriend, Logan Fell, yeah, I know, sounds crazy, but turns out he was a vampire and with my dad being a vampire hunter ya know. Shit happens, I guess) We asked Matt if he could drop us off at home. They dropped me off and then they were gone. Before I fell asleep, I text messaged Jeremy to see if he was okay, but I never got a reply back.
