A Hateful Encounter

"Ohhh Kyyoooooo!~"

"5 more minutes..." Grunted the sleepy Kyo.

"C'moooon! I don't want to be late!" The mystery person pulled off Kyo's bed sheets.

This excitable roommate of mine is Puffy Lee. All of our friends call her Puff or Puffy as a nickname for some reason, so we are gonna stick with that. No one really knows her real name, but let's not focus on that.

It's been a week since we started college, and so far it's been okay. Our other friends, Waffy and Kyoni have a room on the other side of campus, and Mika lives just a few blocks down. I have been blessed to have Puffy be my roommate. Even though she can be a pain sometimes, I dunno what I would do if I had to share a room with a stranger.

"Ughh, Puff, it's only 7:00 in the morning..." I moan as I try to grab my bed sheets from Puff.

She moves away, "I know, but we have to get ready for classes."

"Today is Saturday!" I sit up, "we both put Saturday as a free day on our schedule. We don't have classes today!"

"Oh... I forgot... hehe," Puffy looks away to hide her embarrassment, "but still! We shouldn't lay around all day and do nothing. I'm gonna arrange a meeting with the others at the coffee shop, so get ready."

"Ughhh," I grudgingly get up from bed. I hear my door shut as Puffy leaves the room. I go to my bathroom to freshen up for the meeting. Mika will be mad at me if I show up like this.

We all agreed to make Saturday our free day for everyone in our friend group so we can meet up like this. Every other day in the week is either school, work, or both.

I am studying to be a doctor. Lame, I know, but I want to save lives. Puff is studying to be a pastry chef. She is really good at making food, especially sweets. One of the plus sides of being her roommate~

Waffy is studying to be a professional nail polish designer, Mika and Kyoni are studying to do something related to art. They don't really know what they wanna do, just something related to art.

"How much farther..?" I whine as Puffy drives us to the café.

"Not much farther now. Soon you'll have your coffee and you won't be such a Debby downer,"

I grunt at Puff as I slump back into the shotgun seat. I don't know how she manages to wake up without coffee. But one thing I do know is that she is not a morning person, that's for sure. It takes her a few minutes to wake up, and when she's in her "tired state," she will kill if disturbed.

"We're here!" Puffy pulls up in the drive way to the campus StarDucks. We    get out of the car and walk through the double doors.

The café is as busy as ever. I glance around to try and find any familiar faces. I spot Mika sitting at a table, chatting with someone I don't recognize. I walk over there to see what's up, Puffy following me.

"Hey Mika," I greet her, giving the guy a side glance.

"Kyo, Puff," Mika nods to us, "This is Kevin. He noticed me sitting by myself so he came her to chat. He's here waiting for his other friends."

"Nice to meet you," Kevin holds out his hand to us, his gaze mostly fixed on Puffy, "A couple of lovely ladies like you shouldn't leave one of your friends by themselves waiting for you."

I glance curiously at the guy. What does he mean by that? I reach out my hand to shake his, but before I could do that, Puff shoves me away and shakes his hand quickly.

"It's nice to meet you too, but I think your friends are here. You might not want to keep them waiting."

As Puff says that, a couple of guys walk in. Oddly enough, Kevin and the other two guys are wearing the same black leather jackets. The one that I notice is the guy with the red hair. He looks very mysterious... and he looks about my age too.

"Hmm, looks like your right," Kevin's voice cuts into my thoughts, "it's best if I go now. It was nice to meet you girls," Kevin winks at us before walking away.

I look over at Puff to see her giving Kevin a death glare. This scares me because I've only seen her do this once, and that was when I woke her up from a nap during class. Something is definitely wrong between those two, but I've never seen him before.

But Puff's glare only lasts for a second, then she goes back to her cheery self. I take one last glance at the red haired guy as he walks out the door before following Puff to Mika's table.

"What was all that about?" Mika asks, just as confused as I am.

"Oh, nothing. I'm gonna go order some tea while we wait for Waffy and Kyoni to show up. Want anything?"

"The usual please," Mika asks. Puff doesn't need to ask me what I want since we frequent here almost every other day.

As Puff walks over to the order area, Mika turns to me, "I saw you staring at one of those guys," Mika teases me.

"Oh pssshhh," I blush a little, "I just thought his red hair was cool."

"So it was the red haired guy huh? Hmm, I could ship it."

"MIKA!"

"What? I saw how you stared at him. I've known you for a long time now, and whenever I see that look on your face, it means the beginnings of a cruuuuuush~"

"No. I am not getting into another relationship. You know how the last one went."

"You shouldn't let past things cloud your judgement. What if he's a good guy?"

"Did you see how he dressed? No thank you, and did u see the look Puffy gave them? I know that look very well, and it's not a good one."

"I'm just sayin', this could be good for you," Mika shrugs.

"I'm back!" Puffy returns with 3 cups, 2 with coffee and one with tea. She places down the cups and I grab my cup.

"Oh look! There's Waffy and Kyoni," Puffy waves them over as they walk in.

"Fashionably late, as always," Mika mumbles to me.

"Sorry sorry! We're late cause SOMEBODY took the wrong turn," Waffy glares at Kyoni.

"I said I was sorry, ok??" Kyoni whined.

I chuckle to myself, "we saved you guys some seats."

"Ah, thank you darlings," Waffy takes a seat next to Puffy, "so, what did we miss?"

"Oh you missed some hot guys!" Mika excitedly tells about the encounter with those guys.

It's the middle of the night. I'm in my bed but I can't sleep. All I keep thinking about is that guy with the red hair. He just won't get out of my head!

"What is wrong with me..." I murmur to myself, "I'm so helpless..."
