Batman and Robin sped their vehicles down the forefront streets of Gotham City. Batman was determined to end this night once and for all. Joker's reign was about to come to a close.

"Pull around the corner!" Batman exclaimed on the walkie-talkie to Robin. They halted their vehicles near an alleyway and parked. As they stepped outside, the sounds of laughter were heard ringing in their covered ears.

"We split up?" asked Robin. Batman surveyed the area, making sure Joker didn't put a booby trap in place of the alleyway. "Yes. But stay close within the perimeter," Batman replied. He coughed and whizzed a bit of drool after finishing his sentence.

His blood sugar was surprisingly low, possibly due to the cancer. "You alright?" Robin anxiously wondered. She wanted to make sure her guardian was safe and sound before executing the mission.

"Yeah, yeah. Fuck...just, just go! Go see if you can help citizens out of their homes or something," Batman said through gritted teeth. He then postured himself up, his stomach in pain. Batman then weakly walked out of the dark alleyway.

He approached what seemed to be the Joker's silhouette. However, it was just a frightened citizen who refused to take another closer step. Batman helped the citizen by telling him to run the opposite direction, away from the area.

"Always helping the city, Bats?" exclaimed a grim voice. From the corner of Batman's tired eye, was the Joker himself. However, his reoccurring appearance was more distinct.

The Joker's hair was dark green now, he wore a large white tuxedo to hide his ailing body, his make-up was more smeared, and his skin was much more wrinkled due to his age.

Batman turned to face his possible last enemy. The adversary of his life, the largest rival he encountered. The Joker.

"What are you here for?" Batman asked with a grunt. He ignored the stomach pain. "I needed an untimely return to Gotham. I know who you are, your secrets. You are Bruce Wayne," Joker replied with a grin.

Batman shook his fists in anger. However, his weakness caused his hands to then tremble. "Shit," he whispered. Joker laughed maniacally, noticing his foe's age.

"You're old now! And got a potty mouth now," Joker exclaimed. Batman decided to take a swing at Joker's disappearance, wanting to hurt him emotionally.

"Where's your Harley?" he asked with a crooked smile. Joker's laugh then suddenly switched to a frown. A tear laid down his eye.

"My Harley-cakes is dead. She was killed in an assault," Joker hinted. Batman then felt a slight sorrow for the clown, knowing what it is like to lose many loved ones. He understood the impact.

"It's just us then. The commissioner is dead too," Batman noted. His fists shook with frustration, remembering when Joker murdered his butler, Alfred.

Joker looked at his loaded rifle and dropped it on the ground. "We duke it out then. Like predator and predator in the moonlight," Joker said. He cracked his shoulders in determination to take down Batman. Batman raised his gloved fists as well. The fight was about to begin.

Meanwhile, Robin ran to the nearest building. However, she found out the citizens already evacuated by the help of the GCPD. Commissioner Yindel and Mayor Stevenson appeared, nodding at Robin's presence.

"The girl wonder. How are you?" asked Yindel. She shook hands with Robin. "Are all the citizens evacuated down these streets?" Robin asked. The two city officials nodded in reply.

"Joker finished shooting a few minutes ago. He has no goons, just himself. He was trying to persuade the GCPD that he knew of Batman's identity," Commissioner Yindel said.
