The day had begun normal, well at least for how normal it could be for a Mute Girl. Ariadne Haven has been mute ever since she was 15 after a day in high school, living a life full of Silent Dreams until a certain Blue Boy came by a changed her life. For Better or Worse is for you to find out.
Ariadne's POV
I admired the scenery as I walked down the streets of LA. I have walked down these roads millions of times yet I'm still impressed by the details. After a long walk, I stumble upon a cute looking cafe. The building overall was modern looking with an outdoor area to eat. The only downfall? It was packed, people were everywhere, taking up mostly every seat. I took out my phone and opened it to the Notes app where I typed my order, a small raspberry iced tea, and walked up to the counter.
"What may I get for you?" The lady asked, she had caramel brown hair that was thrown up into a messy bun.
I hold up my phone and show it to her with a smile hoping that she would understand.
"Great! If it wouldn't be too much of a hassle, may I have a name for that?" She said while smiling back.
Nodding I quickly type up a few words and show her the phone again.
"Ok! One small raspberry iced tea for Aria!" She shouts back at her coworkers and starts talking to the next person.
I walked over to the waiting area and placed my phone back in my pocket. The area had a good amount of people, at least 20, all waiting around for their drinks and food.
"Aria! Iced tea for Aria!" Someone else had called it out and placed my drink on the counter.
I grabbed it with a smile on my face and started walking out of the cafe. The drink was made perfectly, I sipped at it while walking down the same path I had come, not completely paying attention to the surroundings.
CRASH!
My drink that was in my hands was now on the ground spilling over my shoes and.. the ones that belonged to a stranger.
"Sh*t! I am so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going." The stranger's voice was high pitched, I looked up at him and met his hazel eyes. His hair was colored blue and there was acne splotching the lower half of his face, he almost seemed familiar.
Crap, What am I suppose to do? He's is just... looking at me...
I quickly fumbled for my phone in my pocket and open up the notes app.
'It is perfectly fine! I never liked these shoes anyways!' I held up my phone to his face hoping he would understand and not ask more questions.
"Ok... Well, let me buy you another drink at least!" The blue haired man talked with a smile adorning his face. He seemed to ponder his thoughts for a few moments before speaking again "Oh, My name is Ethan by the way!"
I shook my head and smiled back at him before typing on my phone again 'You don't have to do that and the name is Ariadne or some people just call me Aria'
"Well, Aria I am going to get you another drink," Ethan said with a smirk on his face while over pronouncing my name.
I just rolled my eyes as we walked towards the cafe I had originally gotten my iced tea from. I started thinking about where I could have seen this person before. I suddenly pulled out my phone again and started typing.
'Wait, Ethan... as in Ethan from gymnastics? Ethan, From Maine? The Ethan that started a youtube channel with me?'
"Aria as in Kit Kat? I knew I recognized you!" Ethan said with a huge smile on his face and brought me into a hug. It had been three years since I had moved to LA and I hadn't seen Ethan since.
After the hug, we continued walking both of us with a smile on our faces.
I am so glad he hasn't asked about what has happened with my voice yet... I don't know how to explain it...
