Okay anyways on with the chapter....
Paul's POV
~~~~~~~Soon as I hung the phone up after my talk with Sally, I clocked out at work, and hopped into my car.
As I drove to Long Island Sound, I turned on the radio for the first time in a year. When the music started playing, I didn't know any of the songs playing. I glanced at the station then back to the road. This was Percy's favorite station.
I have missed my stepson. Imagine my face when he told me he was a demigod. Wow! Was I surprised, or what? And one of the most powerful demigods, too.
At last I arrived at the camp. I parked my vehicle at the top of the hill, and walked down to the boarder entrance. There was a dragon there that didn't seem to notice me until I was right by it. The dragon got up on its rear legs, I backed up, and it shot fire into the sky. It must be an alarm or something.
"Woah! Woah! I'm not here to hurt anyone! I'm just here for Annabeth! Annabeth Chase!" I shouted at it in defense.
It came down on all fours and leaned its head down at me," I know Paul Bolfis. Percy Jackson's step-father. I signaled for someone to come let you in. For that is out of my doing." The dragon said in my head.
"Oh. Alrighty then."
A few minutes later two boys came rushing up the hill. "Oh Mr. Bolfis! It's just you!" Said the shorter one.
"I Connor Stoll invite Paul Bolfis into camp!" The taller one announced. Thunder boomed and I walked through the entrance with no trouble.
The boys clapped me on the back. "How is the old Kelp Head?" Connor asked.
"In the hospital." I replied.
"Ha. Ha. Good one! But seriously!" Travis laughed.
"I am serious!" The two stopped laughing. "That's why I'm here. I need to talk to Annabeth. We don't know what's wrong with him."
"Oh. Umm.. Yeah...." Travis said pointing his thumb in the general direction.
"This way. We'll show you." Connor promised.
"Hey, Malcom!" Travis shouted.
A boy with blonde hair and grey eyes, very similar to Annabeth, walked up to us. "Stolls. What do you need? Oh hey, Mr. Bolfis!"
"Paul, please you guys."
"Paul here, is looking for Annabeth. Know where she is?" Connor chatted.
"Well she's not in our cabin or in the arena. So you should know where she is." Malcom said vaguely.
"Okay." They said in unison as Malcom walked off.
The boys led me down the path to a dock by the lake. I saw a girl with long blonde hair sitting with her legs dangling from the dock. I knew this was Annabeth.
"There ya go man." The boys clapped me on the back once more before walking off.
I cautiously walked up behind Annabeth. When I was by Annabeth, I put my hand on her shoulder. Guess how she responded? She flipped me over her shoulder and into the water.
"Oh my gods! Paul!" She put a hand out to help me up. "I am so sorry!" She kept apologizing.
When I finally got back on the dock, she asked me,"What are you doing here?"
"For you!"
"Me?"
"On Percy's behalf."
"Oh gods! What's wrong? Did he have another episode?"
"Episode?"
"Flashback like situations."
"I see.... I think he might have. I'm not sure. I wasn't there. Sally called me and told me to come get you because the doctors and her don't know what's wrong with him."
"Okay? So you need me to go to California for Percy?"
"If it's no bother?"
"No. Of coarse not. I will be glad to go to him." She nodded.
"Let's go get you a pair of dry cloths first." She laughed.
I followed her to the camp store and she got me my size of t-shirt and some cargo shorts. "Thank you, Annabeth."
"It's no problem. I did ruin your cloths after all." We walked to the Big House to talk to Chiron.
I saw the centaur relaxing on the porch watching over the camp. "Ahhh looking good Mr. Bolfis! Haha" He joked.
"Thanks." I said a bit to seriously.
"Chiron."
"Annabeth."
"Percy needs me, so I'm leaving with Paul to go see him."
"Alright." He said hesitantly.
"Thanks Chiron!" Annabeth ran up the stairs and gave the horse-man a hug.
"Be safe my dear!"
"Aren't I always?" She giggled. He rolled his eyes playfully.
"Okay so I'll catch up with you in a bit. I need to pack some cloths for the trip, and-"
"Umm... Annabeth?"
"Yes?"
"I won't be taking you to California. I'm sorry, but that's crazy! Ha. Ha. I was hoping that you could take the Argo 2 with the rest of the seven."
"Oh the rest of the seven too?"
"Yeah. I mean unless that's to much trouble. It's just Sally and I can't afford to pay for a flight or pay for gas that far, ya know?"
"No! It's no problem! I-I just miss it being Percy and I against the world. Ya know?"
I nod in understanding. "You could just ask to barrow it from Leo."
"Hahahaha that's funny!" We both start to laugh.
"Okay well I'll talk to the others. Thanks, Paul. Do you need help finding your car?"
"Okay and uhh no I am fine. Thank you. Good luck Annabeth." I give her a hug before I find my car and leave."
