YOUR LOVE \\ SHAWN HUNTER [1]

-chapter three-

crystal walked towards her cousin and shawn, pulling on her backpack straps frustratedly. many things were upsetting the blonde that day, and not being able to finish painting her nails blood red was one of them. taking her place beside shawn and leaning on the lockers behind her, she greeted the boys, "hey guys. dorky as ever, i see."

cory matthews tilted his head to the side to look at the girl. he sighed, shaking his head. his cousin may have lectured both him and shawn about distracting her during lunch, therefore not letting her paint her nails properly and completely, but cory knew it was just her trying not to care about more important things that were making her sad. like how the anniversary of her whole family's death was coming soon, or the fact that she had lost her mother's favourite necklace. it was major things like these that crystal chose to ignore so that she could show that she wasn't really bothered. 

"ew, richard and cindy?" crystal cringed, ignoring the burning but knowing stare of cory's.

"very deeply in love," shawn stated from beside her, casually slinging his arm around her shoulders. crystal grinned at the sarcasm spilling out of the boy's mouth.

"what did they eat?" cory asked, his face contorted into disgust at the sight of the two teenagers blatantly making out in the school hallways. crystal rolled her eyes, shuddering to prove her point, before saying, "i don't know, but it doesn't look like it was enough."

shawn laughed at crystal's answer, and crystal swore she had never felt such a beautiful feeling in her stomach till then. with shawn's body tightly pressed against hers due to him practically hugging her, she could feel every vibration from his body as he chuckled. other than that, it felt good that he was laughing at her joke. it made her feel all warm inside.

just as crystal was about to open her mouth to make another remark just to feel those vibrations again, mr feeny appeared out of nowhere. how that man did that, crystal didn't know. he was always just coming out of random places. 

"ah, mr heckle and mr jekkyl, don't we have classes to attend?" the man asked rhetorically. crystal grinned at the nickname mr feeny gave them. guess who was using that name from then on?

shawn scoffed at the fact that mr feeny had not addressed crystal's presence. it was kind of annoying that the blonde girl was always seen as innocent due to her exterior, when, really, she was the devil incarnate.

"erm, mr feeny?" crystal spoke up. mr feeny turned his head to face her, and she continued her question. "shouldn't you break them up or hose them down or something?"

"oh, i wouldn't interrupt their tryst, miss rhodes. they're both a-minus students and happily struck by cupid."

"so if they were c-minus students, you wouldn't let them kiss?" shawn asked curiously, raising his eyebrows. his grip on crystal's shoulder tightened as all of them waited impatiently for mr feeny's answer.

mr feeny rubbed his chin, almost amusedly, at the sight of three pair of eyes watching his every move. "school policy, don't you know?"

crystal leaned back, shrugging at the answer. whatever, she thought. even if she were to decide to kiss anyone, she wouldn't have any problem since her grades being straight a's stayed prominent in both her old and new school. crystal watched as cory involuntarily stepped closer towards the older man in front of him. 

"so i can't kiss?" crystal groaned, facepalming herself. this wasn't the first time her cousin asked stupid questions, and yet, she knew there were more to come. mr feeny sighed, smiling bitterly. "with your grades, mr matthews, you can't even shake hands."

as he finished his statement, mr feeny roughly pulled shawn's arm around crystal off of her and the girl almost whined at the sudden loss of heat. "although it doesn't count for crystal here for her grades are amazing, it applies for you, mr hunter."

"just watch, mr feeny. by the end of the year, both me and shawn plan to have an a-plus average and a hickey each," cory proudly said, patting shawn's back. however, his best friend had better plans, and a greater conscience, leading to him stepping back from cory's grasp. "it's just you, buddy. i'm too dumb to get an a-plus, let alone a b."

crystal frowned as she heard the words coming out of shawn's mouth. crystal had always felt shawn had the potential, and his very little faith in himself made her want to hug the hunter boy every second. 

the blonde girl sighed, before hitting the back of her cousin's head with her file and stalking towards her next class.

"i should relax, cause this coupling thing, it's just a phase," was the first thing crystal heard as she rejoined her two favourite boys to waste time with. crystal threw her head back, huffing. "you guy are still on that? ok, i'm leaving then." 

shawn clamped his hand around the girl's arm, stopping her from walking any further away from the both of them and crystal smiled tightly. 

"hey, crystal, you shouldn't be complaining," cory stated and crystal raised her left eyebrow. "oh yea?"

"yea. firstly, you get to kiss anyone you want because you have great grades. and secondly, you and shawn are basically already together so that's that!" cory explained, before scurrying away from both his best friend and his cousin. crystal's eyes widened, her jaw dropping as she watched her cousin stomp away. awkwardly and slowly, crystal's eyes trailed towards the boy beside her, whose grip on her arm was stopping her from running after cory to kill him. shawn only stood silently, scratching the back of his neck with his other hand.

it was going to be a long day.

crystal beamed, her mouth threatening to spill out another loud laugh. she was currently sprawled on the couch in the matthews' house, topanga sitting cross legged in front of her. topanga giggled, before forcing out, "so, i told him that... th... that there is someone out there for him!"

crystal broke into laughter, not stopping even when she could hear cory emerging from the kitchen with eric in tow. things were never boring with all these people in her life.
