Ashton's POV
Everyone confused me for a boy. My name didn't necessarily help, I liked it though, it suited me. A once pixie cut but now grown out haircut in a dark purpley-blue. It was kind of a surprise each time I was confused for a guy, I like to think my wardrobe is very cute and girly. I was thin and stood at a mere 4 ft 10 inches. Despite my childish stature I was now 16, my junior year of high-school. Nothing was too unique in Hamilton High-school, jocks, cheer leaders who were essentially handcuffed to their practically designated jocks. And then the misfits, the middles, and the nowheres. I was a nowhere, a high-school student drifting in the endless abyss of drama and cheap perfume, only finding direction when shoved by one of the clique members.
I awoke to a droning alarm sitting on my left nightstand. I was hollow, it all seemed pointless, moving and going to school. Yet I sat up and rubbed my dreary eyes before sliding out of bed. I slid into my slippers and shuffled my was to my vanity grabbing the clothes I had set out previously. I made my way into the bathroom and slipped off my clothes exposing the nearly paper colored skin that lie beneath my baggy pajamas. I stepped into the shower after setting up my speaker and testing the water. I sang along to the tones of my playlist, depression songs and rock. I'm not as cute and simple as I seem ya know.

I slipped on my black mid-thigh socks and checked over myself in the mirror on my wall. I wore a slightly baggy off white sweater and a short pink flowy skirt along with off-white flats. My hair was straightened neatly across my forehead and of course there's that one hair in the back that always sticks up. I sat on the cushioned stool in front of my vanity and began to apply my light make up. Nothing more than a bit of foundation, mascara, and fake freckles where my real ones were across my cheeks.
I finished up and put on my dull baby pink backpack and began my walk to school. It was only about 20 minutes away on foot. I pulled my phone from my pocket to check the time 7:39. I increased my pace, my shoes clicking against the road. Jogging in skirts sucks.

I reached the school 15 minutes before classes began which meant wondering around until it was time for class. Books in hand I meandered through the halls of the enormous school. I desperately checked as to avoid him. If I passed him he would greet me and it would all fly down hill from there. I bounced up the stairs more focused on stilling my chest then where I was going, and then it happened, I bumped him, and as predicted, it all went down hill from there. Or in this case, stairs.
Marcus's POV
I did absolutely everything I could to avoid the beautiful dainty girl that filled my gut with butterflies since 2nd grade. I was on my way down the stairs to retrieve my things from wherever Luis ditched them this time. I mindlessly starred at my feet as I stepped down the stairs. And then, boom. I bumped the beautiful thing. My head snapped up as her books fell to the floor and she began to tilt back, the worry on her face was enough to make me lung to catch her. I pulled her into the safety of my arms as I stood on the landing. She screamed as I pulled her nearer, still fearing the fall. I held her in my arms for awhile until I saw her beautiful emerald eyes stare right into my cobalt blue's. I immediately released her and tended to her books. I swiftly placed them in a stack on the floor, waiting to be picked up. She starred at me for a moment, I could feel the burning sensation corrupt my ears, there was no doubt that my face was bright red too at this point. I watched as her once pale cheeks turned rosy when she giggled. That subtle and perfect smile piercing my heart and only making me long for her more.
She looked up at me, I towered over her at 6'5. She quickly spoke, breaking the awkward and intense silence, "Thank you." she said in the sweetest voice ever to grace my ears. I smiled awkwardly and responded "N-no problem." I know she could tell I was nervous because she started to speak of our childhood together.

Still Marcus's POV
The bell snapped us out of the reminiscent trance we were held in. "Shit." I said under my breath. I adverted my eyes as Ashton bent over to pick up her books, I wasn't that low of a guy. She smiled at me and said "I'm sorry but that's the class bell, we should catch up another time soon." those hope inducing words were followed by a swift hug and an equally speedy get away. I stood there in disbelief until Luis slapped me across the back with my books. I groaned slightly and turned to face him,
"Don't tell me you were just talking to that Ashton chick." I felt the heat well up in my cheeks as well as fury in my veins as Luis posed a question
"What was it about?" I stood there blankly
"Nothing." I quickly grabbed my books from Luis and sprinted to my first period class.
