A/N: I don't normally like angst but this idea was from someone on tumblr who wanted angst so I tried a little, the fluff outweighs the angst though so don't worry

Summary: Dan's having a bad mental health day and Phil tries to cheer him up
-

Dan was sat on his bed. He'd been sat there since he'd awoken. In his (and Phil's) dimly lit room, with clothes and various others objects scattered around the place.

He was cold and still shirtless having not bothered to dress himself this morning. His bare back leant against the bed frame uncomfortably but he couldn't be bothered to move.

Presumably Phil had gotten up a few hours ago, had his breakfast and gotten on with the things he needed to do.

Wondering silently and melancholically where he was, Dan sighed to himself. He didn't know what it was about today, but everything just seemed so pointless to him right now.

He didn't have to wonder where Phil was for too long, as the man came striding into the room before long in his usual bouncy manor. His bouncing shortly came to a halt though, after he saw the pitiful look on Dan's face, and the pitiful mess that surrounded him.

'Dan?'
Dan didn't say anything, he carried on staring at the speck of blue tack he'd earlier pinpointed on the wall.
'Dan what's up?' Phil asked again.
Dan turned to stare at him instead, emotionlessly.

Phil's look of pity turned to a look of knowing.
'I'm running you a bath, and making you feel better right now. Come on'

Dan groaned as Phil walked over and lifted him by his armpits, quite literally dragging him out of bed.

Soon enough Dan was reluctantly sat on the rim of the bathtub, legs dangling into the warm water.

Phil had helped him remove his clothes. It didn't bother him, seeing Dan naked, he'd seen it a million times before. Plus Dan wasn't really in a position to protest right now, he hadn't spoken to his boyfriend all day.

Phil waited patiently beside Dan for the bath to fill before switching off the taps.
'Right, now you get in and have a nice soak, I'm going to go make you hot chocolate and see if there's any cookies left for you, oh and I'll find a nice fluffy towel for when you...'
'Thank you' Dan mumbled, managing a weak smile to which Phil responded with an even bigger one.

A little less then ten minutes later Phil came back with a tray full of cookies and hot chocolate. However, he almost dropped them when he saw the sight he was greeted with.

There in front of him Dan was sat in the tub, his chin was rested on the side of the bath, tears were streaming down his cheeks, and choked sobs were coming from his mouth.

'P P Phil...' he whimpered.
Phil immediately put down the tray and knelt down beside him.
'Dan. What is it?'

'D d do you love me?'
Phil looked at him curiously for a moment. How could Dan think that he didn't love him?

'Of course I love you'
'But, how do you put up with me... aren't I a burden to you?'
'Dan of course you aren't, I love taking care of you and I know you'd do the same for me'

'B b but, look at me I'm a wreck, I have no control over my own life I, I can just wake up one day and feel like shit and I end up putting all that on you... I'm just a worthless piece of crap' he cried.

The tears had made his vision blurry. He felt almost angry, not at Phil but at himself.
'Dan, I...'
'What, Phil' Dan snapped 'what are you going to do?'

He was such a wreck. Why was he yelling at Phil? He knew it was wrong but for some reason he couldn't find it in him to stop.

'You should just leave me Phil, you know, you don't feel the things I do. You should go find someone normal to be with, someone who isn't a mess and isn't fucking broken' Dan spat.

Crying still, he felt the regret of his actions almost immediately. He'd just taken everything he felt out on the one person who cared for him.

Phil saw the expressions on the boy's face change within a matter of seconds. He went from angry, to shocked, to afraid almost instantly and then he buried his head into the edge of the bathtub.

The bath water was getting cold.

'Dan look at me' Phil whispered. He pulled Dan's head up, resting his hand under the boy's chin.

'I love you so so much, I would never leave you. You're not broken, you're beautiful. Even when you cry, and yell and get frustrated I still love you. And yes, I may not feel the things you feel sometimes, but I can help you get through them'

Dan sniffed. He felt Phil run his thumb over his lip and then over his cheek, wiping away a tear. Then he just felt the overwhelming urge to kiss the man. Not caring if it was a wet and tearful kiss, it was the best way to express how he felt right now.

Leaning into the black haired boy, Phil leaned closer to him too. Their lips connected like fire, it was warm and powerful, yet gentle. Slowly, Phil holding Dan's face ever so carefully, they kissed.

Dan soon found himself wanting to speed things up. The way Phil held him was so cautious and careful, like Dan was going to break, like he was fragile. And while yes, Dan very much felt as though he was, he wanted to prove he wasn't so easily broken.

Beginning to deepen the kiss, Dan brushed his tongue against Phil's lips and the pace began to quicken. Dan wasn't fragile. He was strong. The kiss was fast and passionate now, it expressed more emotion than Dan could ever let out through words.

He could almost feel himself healing, as though he was fixing himself. Except he wasn't just fixing himself, Phil was fixing him too. Dan needed Phil and Phil needed Dan. They completed each other, and Dan could see that once more.

Pulling away from Phil, panting for breath, he gazed up at those bright blue eyes he knew so well.

'Can I get in with you?' Phil asked.
'Okay' Dan nodded 'it's a little cold now though'
Phil pulled the plug out and turned the warm tap back on, climbing into the tub behind Dan.

'Feel better?' He asked, reaching over to get a cookie and the drink he'd made for Dan. Dan smiled.
'Yeah' he responded, sipping his drink.

Turning off the warm tap, deciding it was warm enough, Phil smiled too. The warmth seemed to be sweeping into them, it was heavenly. Phil reached over for Dan's drink, taking a sip himself before setting it down on the side.

Phil leaned forward until he was pressed against Dan's back, he rested his head on Dan's shoulders and pressed his lips to the boy's neck.

'I love you Phil'
'I love you too, Dan'
