Chelsea-
With everything done to get ready to go back home to Pineview for our prom. Aside from leaving, we’re packed and ready to leave for the weekend. Austin locked away all my devices except my phone. We head to limo and head back to Pineview. My home.
We reach the ranch where a huge welcome home sign is hanging under the Ranch sign.
“Chels,” Seth races outside and sweeps me into his arms, “Welcome home sis.” I barely stepped foot out of the car and Seth greets me as if I’ve been gone for years.
“I’ve missed you too Seth.” I tell him as John and David come out and hug me. “Guys, stop smothering me. I have got to go pick up my dress from Kelly’s house. I’m going to take Mountain.” I gently push my brothers back, “I have three hours until prom. I'll see you boys there. Kelly and I will meet you at the entrance.” David hands over Mountain’s reins.
“730.” Austin says as I mount the leather saddle and nod.
“Make sure no one sees him.” I point to Gavin before clicking the reins and riding off.
Kelly and I work for hours on hair and makeup. “How do you like your new hairstyle?” Kelly asks excitedly.
I look in the mirror at the fourth style, an up do with curls and water-falling down with light pink satin flowers woven into my hair.
“I like it.” I tell her, “I have to remind the boys about the corsages that are in the fridge.”
Me: Gav, don’t 4 get the corsages.
Gavin: Got ‘em. R U 2 ready 2 party?
I begin working on Kelly’s hair, “Tell them maybe?” I tell her brushing her hair back into a ponytail.
Me: Maybe ;)
Gavin: Maybe! Maybe?
I continue to work on Kelly’s hair. I pull the ponytail down to her left shoulder and curl the strands in large loose curls. I put white flower buds in her hair. “Kelly you look gorgeous.” I tell her, “See if your dad will take us. We’ve got five minutes to get there; do you think he can drop Mountain off at my ranch later?”
“He’s going to want pictures.” Kelly says.
“He’ll get them, when we come back here. After, but now we’re running late.”
Gavin-
Sitting in your limo alone while you’re prom date is late to prom isn’t ideal, but here I am. Waiting. Austin’s meeting the girls at the door, and Chelsea’s going to come get me. I hear a tapping on the window and look out to see a silhouette.
Chelsea: Come on already! :)
I open the door and standing in the lot before me is Cinderella. I grab her corsage from the seat next to me and let her pin it to her dress. “You look, you look amazing. Heaven must have lost and angel tonight.” I tell her escorting her to the cafeteria. The majority of the dance is taking place here. We get our picture taken place at the door and go to find Austin and Kelly. As soon as I spot him, Austin stands speechlessly staring back at me and Chelsea. Do I really blame him? Not really. I don’t really look like me, and neither does she. we both look like someone else.
“Chels, you look spectacular.” He finally manages to spit out, Chelsea smiles back and thanks him. Vice Principal Riker comes to the DJ booth and grabs the mic.
“Good evening Bridgecrest High.” Ms. Riker says, “The time has come to announce the Prom King and Queen.”
I watch, as Chelsea looks around the room at all her friends. Her eyes go wide and she zeros in on someone or something.
