Roses are red,
Violets are blue
My time all alone
Is desolate without you
My heart has this yearning
And I'm barely learning,
How to properly love
This precious black dove
It's feathers are tainted
And my heart becomes reacquainted
As it wishes to be loved by you.
The roses have wilted now
And the violets are dead
This piercing blade threatens to slice off my head.
This journey feels lonely
The dove used to feel homely,
But the pink love that once lingered
Has been stained a black licorice red.
Open your wings little dove
Accept my bleeding red love
And let me call you home.
Let peonies grow
As our love can blossom and show
To the world who said we were failures.
Cherry lips wish to kiss yours
As you fly away and soar
Away from my damaging touch.
I'd love to call you mine
It'll be different this time
And my heart will be wide open for yours.
