"She said that-"

"Hey Max!" I heard a familiar voice creep behind me.

Melissa appeared and pushed Clover out of the way, onto Terry.

Melissa and I weren't getting along lately, ever since the start of October. She just wasn't being her normal self-or maybe, she was being herself, unlike before. I tried to take my mind off of it but then I suddenly heard chatter with her friends about a guy named Evan. Maybe my idea of her was all wrong to begin with.

She kissed me, but it was an unwanted kiss, from both our parts I could tell.

We didn't say anything until we sat down with our drinks.

"Why did you come with them?" she began.

"They're my friends, sorry, I didn't think you'd like to," I looked in their direction. I saw Clover drinking what Terry got her with joy. I smiled.

"It wasn't the best feeling to find out about it, but I forgive you. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that this isn't really what I pictured when being in a relationship with you," Melissa fluttered her eyes.

"Well, me either, it's a little less great than I thought. I thought you were different."

"Huh? Are you kidding? I-"

"Hey, mind if we join you?" Terry asked sitting down with Clover.

"Not at all, please do," I answered relieved.

"Great."

"Melissa, you know Terry, right?" I tried to make a little conversation.

"Terry who?" Melissa rolled her eyes.

"I'm Terry Molse, I would've thought that you had heard of me," he said.

"Terry Molse! Yes, of course, you're like, the most popular guy in school! Even more popular than Max over here," she squealed.

Melissa looked over at Clover. "You're the blind girl, right?" I cringed at her question- her unwanted question.

Clover quickly faced up to answer. "Y-yeah, but you know, my name is-"

"So Terry, how did you meet miss blind over here? Were you forced to greet her because of the school, or something?" she asked rudely.

"Or something, yeah, I met Clover the first day of school. I saved her from the hallway crowd. She's actually really great," he defended Clover and held her hand.

She cleared her throat, a little disappointed," Well, I'm going to go, bye Max, see you at school Terry, and you too Clifford."

"My name is-" Clover started, but Melissa shut the door. "Clover."

"Ugh, Clover I am so sorry, I don't know why she treated you that way," I apologized.

"Yeah, you're going out with a snake. I didn't say anything cause I'm not her boyfriend, but you are! You let her say those things!" Terry said angrily.

"Guys, it's fine, I'm fine, I knew she didn't like me. I just thought she would give me a little more respect. I wasn't expecting that level of ignoring. Terry, thanks for what you did back there, it was sweet. I think we should go. I had a great time, I'm definitely drinking this again," Clover smiled.

"You're right. I-uh-Max I'm sorry, I kind of snapped. So, we'll see you on Monday."

"Yeah, this was pretty fun, we should do it again, but without, Melissa," I added.

I walked back to my house since it was only fifteen minutes away. I got home and threw myself on my bed.

Why don't I just end things with Melissa? Tell Clover I like her better? Ugh!

I was scared of people judging me. Liking the blind girl? But Terry wasn't afraid to let it show. He isn't afraid of what people think. Why can't I be like that?

I heard the door open and went out of my room to greet my mom.

"Mom? Before you dated Dad, was he dating- you know, somebody before he met you? Like, before you fell in love."

"Where is this coming from? I don't think you've ever asked how we fell in love. Just how we met," she looked at me suspiciously.

"I just want to know," I said in a nervous voice. I didn't need her to know what I was going through. I didn't need to worry her.

"Very well, if you are just so curious, then I'll tell, but it isn't really exciting by the way."

"That's fine, I just want to know the story."

"Well, he did, he was, I think her name was, something with an "O" at the beginning. Ol- Olive?- Olivia- yes, Olivia Pawen. When I met your father, he was already dating her. She hated me with her whole heart, and it grew stronger when your father became my best friend and started getting closer to me. She was jealous of how well we got along from the very beginning."

"What happened? How did he end up with you?"

"Well, he realized that Olivia was just using him to be popular, so he broke up with her, and developed feelings for his best friend-me. At the time, we didn't we would last very long. We were a blind couple. As the years went by, we realized that we couldn't live without each other, so 10 years later, and here we are."

"Thanks."

"Did that help?"

"Yeah, I was just curious."

"Okay, wash up to help me with dinner."

**********

Another three weeks past and I was ready to break it off with Melissa, but she wasn't at school.

I hadn't seen her since the Starbucks on that Friday.

Next week would be November and I wasn't sure if she was ever coming back. This made it into a huge problem, because if I confessed to Clover, and then Melissa came back, I would come off as a jerk, to both of them.

Terry seemed to be even closer with Clover and this meant that the window of opportunity was starting to close quickly.

The first of November I walked off the bus and decided to go for a long walk. 20 minutes into my walk I see a girl kiss a guy by a tree. I walk closer and look away to be polite. But, I catch a glance of bright red hair attached to the girl's head. I look back and see Melissa- it was definitely her.

The other guy- the guy she kissed. That must've been Evan.

I've been having trouble with my wifi and phone, so haven't been able to publish as usually as before, but I will fix it soon. Promise.
