First night here was a total bust. The moving truck got lost along the way and we had to sleep on the floor without any blankets. Luckily they should be here within the hour.
I walk downstairs to find Aunt Georgia with groceries, putting them away in the cupboards. She doesn't notice me until I speak up. "What did you buy? Junk food I hope." She smiled at me.
"No, I got some cup ramen to hold us over until we can get the fridge hooked up and the rest of our stuff gets here." She closed the cupboards and turned toward me. "Why don't you go explore? Go see what good food places they have around here. Maybe we could eat out for dinner tonight."
"Fine, but could I at least have some money? I might find something interesting."
"Sure. Be home soon though. We are going to need some help carrying in those boxes." She pulls out her wallet and hands me a 20. The first thing I see when I walk out the door is another layer of fog covering the mountains. It is so pretty up here. Im going to have to take a trip up those mountains with my camera sometime. I could get some pretty snazzy Instagram shots.
I turn toward town and start walking. Outside the motel I see two teenagers around 15 or 16 hanging out on the porch. The guy is really tall with long blonde hair and the girl is super short with short blonde hair. They're laughing really hard over something when they catch me looking. They stop talking and walk over to me.
"Hey my dude. Whats your name? I'm Ashley and This is Lucas." Ashley gestures to her tall friend who does a wierd twirl.
"Hi. You can call me East. I just moved in next door to the motel."
"We wish we could live here. Its so nice. Sadly we are only here for a week. This is our in-between band camp vacation." Lucas looks jealous.
"Where are your parents?" Since they are on vacation together I assumed they were siblings.
"Well mine are back in Ohio but his are out in the woods, sasquatch hunting." Ashley points to the mountains.
"So your parents let you go out of state with a guy" I look between them "and your parents are sasquatch hunters. That's a little wierd dont you think?"
"Its okay. He's super gay." Lucas just nods. They don't mention anything about the sasquatch thing at all. Like it is just completely normal. "So do you want to walk around town with us?"
"Sure, why not."
