In erstwhile times, and perhaps even now, the sky concealed the temple of solidarity. 12 kings and queens meet here every year upon the beginning of the new year to raise up the new eye over the domain of below. The new eye rotates among the 12 rulers. From the king rat, to king ox, to queen tiger, to queen rabbit, and far over to the king dragon, and queen snake, king horse, king goat, king monkey, queen rooster, and the king dog, and king pig. The cycle drags along, year after year, the eyes alternating each time. The eye would watch over the Earth and make sure all was in harmony, and make sure the humans were in rightful way. But the greatest responsibility of all, was to guide the newcomers of the world and protect them. The innocence of these newcomers was so precious and treasured by the rulers, for the innocence kept the world healthy. Without these alternating powers, the innocence would start to dissipate due to a disbalance in personalities. When a child is born under the eye of a ruler, the child possesses some of the traits of the ruler. Each ruler has flaws... too many flaws in a group, and havoc reigns.
