It has been 8 generations since the Arkship first landed on Oceanus and established the Human settlement of "Nova Alexandria" after the ancient city of Alexandria which was a beacon of hope and knowledge in a sea of darkness.. The then small settlement has grown to be a big bustling metropolis with the help of the technology from the Arkship's database. Robots have been constructed to take care of our needs while we focus on more important things. Because of the increased free time technology rapidly increased and is now at a level our ancestors at Earth could only dream about; the fusion reactors, the warp drives, synthetic crops and much more. This rapid increase in technology has launched a separate branch of government that focuses on regulating what gets researched by who so it is as efficient as possible. The natives that were already living on this world (called Pomelatos) have been enlightened technologically. After all this time they are still getting used to the technology that we have supplied them with but they are integrating into our cities and we Humans accept them into our communities. The natives are only describable as half human half mantis but not in a revolting way. With the advances in longevity research Humans stay in their prime years for their entire life and cannot die of age. Humans normally live around 140 to 180 years because at that point they have decided that they have lived long enough and want euthanasia. Pomelatos tend to live shorter lives than Humans only around 50 years and then they die. This longer lifespan has made diplomacy far more useful than armed conflict and the entire population of the planet has not had a single war after us Humans arrived. Now us Humans look up at the stars and are building a vessel with advanced sensors and other science apparatuses destined to fly amongst the stars and discover new things. This vessel has already been called Eternity and the Humans and Pomelatos are very anxious to see it finished and receive its first data.
