MERLIN
It is Mid-August in southern Chicago. In this Modern rendition of the classic tale of King Arthur the life-long friends of Roman Arthur, Jason Lancelot, and Guinevere Moretti create a treacherous love triangle that may take a fatal turn.
Act 1 , Scene 1
(Curtains open to a sophisticated dinner party following Roman’s win in the race for mayor)
(ROMAN and GUINEVERE are dancing)
GUINEVERE
So, how does it feel to be mayor?
ROMAN
Well, I am the best option as I am the best man in the city, just feels like I will be a God.
( Music Stops)
(Enter LANCELOT)
LANCELOT
Congratulations on the win Roman.
ROMAN
You are late.
GUINEVERE
Fashionably!
ROMAN
Shut up, Gwen.
GUINEVERE
My name is Guinevere. How could you not know my name, we have been dating for three months.
LANCELOT
You look beautiful.
( To GUINEVERE)
GUINEVERE

(Looks down shyly)
ROMAN
So why are you late?
(Rolls eyes)
LANCELOT
We are still on this topic??
ROMAN
(Raises eyebrows and spreading hands)
LANCELOT
Well, I was at The Round Table giving food out.
GUINEVERE
The round Table?
ROMAN
It’s a useless charity for the “underprivileged” should keep his money for himself, gives food and a home for the homeless when he could be wealthy.
GUINEVERE
How many people live there?
