Oh don't mind this, it's just my mask
It hides the grief, it hides the strife
I wear this mask to escape my life
Our embrace was a flower, not just a seed
My naive fairytale was stupid indeed
You sit there saying it can't be true
It is for me, just not for you
You say my heart is bright as a light
To be broken by yours with such a fierce might
It's not my heart, only my soul
But killing me is definitely your goal
"There's nothing", you say from your hollow tin chest
Pretence is going on, I'm at my best
You will never know the cause of my pain
To be left by someone on a deserted lane
Soon enough, I'll reach my end
You will have my soul to tear & rend
But you don't know, you never ask
You never look beyond the mask
