Dad just sat and cried. He cried for three whole days. His face was blotchy and his eyes were red. Then he just stopped. "Dad?" I asked. "Dad?" I asked again. He wouldn't shift. I felt his chest to make sure he was breathing. His heartbeat was VERY abate. "MOM!" I screamed, "MOM!"

I ran to get the telephone to call 9-1-1. The was a peculiar note on the table. It said, Dear Alicia, I am at the grocery store. Keep a good eye on dad if you can -Mom. As soon as I read the note, I grabbed the phone and called 9-1-1.

"Hello, what is your emergency?" said the operator.

"Hello, my dad was crying for days and days, and now he just randomly stopped. He can't move or talk. His heart is beating very weakly." I said very anxiously.

"What is your name and address?" the operator asked.

"My name is Alicia Reynolds and I live in Maple Grove St., Starmore," I said fearfully. "We will have an ambulance and First Responder coming your way in about five minutes." said the operator as they hung up.

As I hung up the phone, I ran over to my dad. Every minute his heart was beating slower, and slower. "It's going to be O.K. dad!" I said as I started bawling. Ever since Grandpa Joey died a few days ago, it's been rough on the whole family. That's the main reason my dad started crying. My mom and I hoped that it wouldn't lead to depression, but the product came out even worse.

The ambulance got there and they started doing CPR on my dad. They tried and tried to get him to breathe again, but nothing worked. They loaded him on a stretcher and into the ambulance. One of the First Responders came over to me. I was a little frightened at first, but after I while I knew everything would be O.K. Or, that's what I thought.

"We think your dad may have had a heart attack." said the First Responder. "We will take him to the hospital and see what is happening to him. You can get a ride from me if you would like. Where is your mom?"

"She is out getting groceries. Wait, can I call her quick?" I asked him.

"Yes, of course," he said waiting for me.

I went to go call mom and dialed her number. She wouldn't answer. That's strange, I thought. Maybe she is just talking on the phone with one of her friends. I walked back to the First Responder and I got in the back of the ambulance. In the midst of the drive to the hospital, his pager went off like crazy. I tried to listen the best I could. I heard something about a woman in a red suburban got in a car accident. I know that dad has an old red suburban, but mom and dad barely ever drive it.

We got to the hospital and the First Responder had to leave for the car accident. The hospital workers rushed my dad into a surgery/hospital room and shut the door furiously. I started watching the doctors go to work, but a nurse caught my eye and shut the blinds. I went to the waiting room and waited for the nurses' updates. Once I got settled I saw a horrible sight. There was the same First Responder in a different ambulance. He was carrying a woman on a stretcher who was all bloody and bruised. They put her in a room right next to my father and they shut the door. The First Responder came in with a stressed look on his face.

"Miss," he said. "Your father is dying. I think he wants to see you for the last time." I ran in there as fast as I could. "Oh daddy!" I said jumping into his arms. "Please don't leave me! I love you!" "I love you too, sweetheart! Goodbye." he stuttered while slowly closing his eyes. The heartbeat rate went crazy. The nurses came rushing in and just stood there and bawled. "Please get out, miss." I went out of the room and curled myself into a ball against the wall. I cried and cried. The First Responder went into the room which the lady was in. He came out with a nurse and whispered to her while looking at me. I finally stopped crying after knowing what happened to my dad after he cried.

"Miss," he said while cueing the nurse to go back into the room. "I know you probably don't want to hear this, but that lady is your mother. She wants to see you. She is not dying, but she is not feeling well." "MOM!" I screamed as I ran into the hospital room. "Oh honey!" she said as she started bawling. We just sat there for the next few hours just crying as soon as I knew it, it was morning and my mother and I were sleeping. I woke up trying to wake my mother up, but she doesn't wake up. "MOM" I screamed as I shook her. The nurse came running in and just stared at my mother. "I'm sorry miss, but your mother died in her sleep." I ran out of the hospital and went on my knees and cried. Ever since then nothing has been the same. I now sleep at the homeless shelter and I have no more existing family members. I am all alone, but someday I will reunite with my family.
