we are reckless

chapter one;

"dad, i'll be fine!" i yelled from the dorm to my father who was stumbling down the corridor with my suitcases. 

my father slowly limps into my room with 2 duffel bags and 3 suitcases all filled with stuff for me and the dorm

"ok, ok. i just wanted to make sure you got everything and didnt get lost, its not everyday your babygirl goes to college!" my fathers eyes start to tear up and i run over to him and give him a hug and kiss on the cheek.

"i love you daddy" i say getting emotional.

"i love you too kenz, your mother would be so proud of you." he goes to give me one last long hug before he leaves to say goodbye to my twin brother tyler. 

"also remember your brother is straight across the hall with his roomate!"

soon enough im left with myself and my own thoughts.

2 hours later....

after 2 long hours later i head a knock at my door. searching throw the peep hole i discover a girl with red hair and a nose piercing standing on the other side. 

"who is it?" i ask before removing myself from looking threw the hole.

"aurora, im your new roomate! may i come in? she asks back politely. 

"sure i mean yeah! come on in! i was just unpacking but anyways hi! im mackenzie osbourne, its nice to meet you finally! i got all of your roomate information but no picture!..." 

i begin to put things away making it seem less awkward. 

"yeah sorry i was living with my father in pittsburgh and all my college mail got sent to my mother since she has or had full custody of me before my parents divorced, so im guessing she didnt send a good picture...we have so many headshots i dont know why she wouldnt send one...im an actress...aurora bedfield?" she looks at my with a confused look. 

she turns around to start bringing the last of her stuff into the dorm.

"so where were you before here?" she asks

"west mifflin pa, so i guess we lived kinda close together!" 

"wow! im suprised we werent neighbors or went to the same school!" excitingly she comes over and sits on my bed. 

i give her a smile and before we can go on with a conversation theres a knock at the door and i hear my brothers voice.

"mackenzie! can i come in?" 

i walk over to the door and open it. 

"hey tyler!" i jump into his arms and give him a huge grin.

"hey sis!" he laughs and puts me down. 

"oh! aurora, this is my twin brother tyler! tyler this is my roomate aurora!" i laugh. 

he goes over and shakes her hand. 

"its nice to meet you aurora!" he smiles at her. 

"its very nice to meet you too!  what a gentleman!" she says smiling.

"so whats your roomate like ty?" i ask mischievously. 

"why dont you come over and meet him?" he takes my hand and i tell aurora ill be back soon.

we walk down the corridor to his dorm room 388 . tyler slips his key through the lock and unlocks the door. 

"hey dude! i have someone for you to meet!" he yells.

a brunette guy comes out of one of the bedrooms in only basketball shorts, vans, and with a towel around his neck.

"hi, im daniel" 

"hey, im mackenzie osbourne" he takes my hand and kisses the top of it like they did way back in the 1900's.

"its a pleasure to meet you mackenzie, but i was just on my way down to the showers" he laughs for a second "would you like to join me?" he winks at me and apologizes and says hes only kidding. 

"its fine" i say with a kind of annoyed but entertained voice. 

my brother goes over and sits on the couch while i talk to daniel.

"so where are you from?" he asks me.

"west mifflin pa, i grew up in south carolina until our mum passed away. i moved here to pittsburgh when i was 10 and finishing up elementary school with my brothers peter and tyler and my father andrew. i never went to a public school like tyler or peter. i was in a private school for girls unlike my twin brother tyler went to a military boarding school till he was 10 with our brother peter who was 13 at the time. peters the oldest one by 3 years, but hes the one im closest too in my whole family!" i laugh. 

"well im from blairsville maine.i grew up with only a father. he was in the navy so we moved around alot....my mum had me when she was 16 and dropped me off at my fathers house when i was only 6 months old and no one has seen her since. some people say she was a drug addict and didnt want me to get put into the system so she gave full custody to my dad...its a fucked up story but maybe i'll tell you it one day but for now i really need to get a shower, i'll see you later ok?" he says

"yeah, i'll see you later!"

he gives me a smile and soon enough its just me and my brother. 

"someone fancies you!" ty says.

i roll my eyes.

"come on ty, you know he's not my type and peter plus dad wouldn't approve of him!"

we sit there and start talking about how much fun college is going to be when daniel comes back after his shower.

"hey bro" he says to tyler.

"hey mackenzie" he says to me with a smile

"hey, do you guys wanna go out to eat or order in for our first night here at college?" tyler suggests. 

"sure!" i say. 

"ok man, sounds good! lets order in some sushi! i'll call, any recommendations? daniel yells from his room while he goes to call the best chinese restaurant in town.

"eel roll!, california roll, and the maki roll!" we yell.

i hear him laugh and order the sushi, i call aurora and ask her if she wants to come over and eat with us but she says no and that she has a date with her junior boyfriend stephen who goes to pitt for psychology,

"daniel!" i yell.

"what!?" he yells from his room.

"come wash up! food will be here any minute!

"ok!" he says

15 minutes later we get our food and put in a scary movie. my brother  sits on the recliner, daniel and i share the futon. half an hour goes by and my brother is asleep. 

"hey" daniel says

"hiiii," i say in reply. 

wanna get out of here?" he asks me. 

"what about curfew?" i say.

"do you really think we will get caught?" he smiles. 

he puts out his hand for me to take it...its like asking "do you trust me?" yes daniel i do. 

so i take his hand.
