I've noticed that I see the world differently
Than the people around me.
Being queer
Being poor
Being rural
Being disabled
Being sexually assaulted
Has changed me.
Why do white men think sprinkling in 'rape' to
Books, lectures, films, anecdotes
Makes their stories, their theories, their words have more meaning
More spectacle.
I called my professor out today
For this
And he ran as far away from the topic as he could.
Men are so weak.
They are so cruel.
Why are they allowed to rule the world?
Where are my trans sisters and queer friends
Not given the space
To breathe, to survive,
Let alone have power and agency.
Fuck white men.
This political obligation to the state's law is bullshit
If one third of women are raped.
This isn't a perpetrator-less crime.
Our brothers, our fathers, our friends, and, yes, even you,
Are the rapist.
So why do you get to pretend it is some distant, abstract concept.
