The rain fell heavily upon their heads, the loud tip-tapping of the droplets on their waterproof coats. It was quiet, yet loud. The rain was all they could hear, the distant splashing of water and their slow, quiet breathing. It was drenching their surroundings but they remained dry, standing out in the middle of a park, awaiting orders.

"Hey, you see anything..?"
"No... I don't see anything... these night vision goggles are shit..."
"Yeah, true... just be glad that if this area is clear we get to go home today..."
"I can't believe that we had to go on patrol at 2 in the morning..."
"Yeah well... welcome to the military..."
"Here comes the truck, check for any bombs or weapons in it. I'll be talking to the driver..."

A white pickup truck rolled up to the checkpoint, the drivers window rolling down. A man with a red baseball cap and a large puffy coat on sat in the drivers seat and looked out the window at the two dark military figures.
"Hey officers... I'm just trying to get through to see my son... he was in the accident..." the man spoke with a strong southern accent, like a cowboy.

Blitz pulled back his hood and lifted his visor, walking towards the truck.
"Alright, but we need to check your truck for contraband and guns and stuff like that... my friend here will be taking care of that..." Blitz nodded towards the other dark figure, pulling out a small disk shaped object. They turned it on and scanned the truck, looking quickly back up to Blitz.

"Blitz... it's a no go..." they said quietly, putting away the object and pulling up their rifle a little. Blitz did the same
"I'm sorry sir, but you need to get out of the vehicle-"

The man pressed down on the accelerator and started driving towards the compound. Sprinting towards the checkpoint hut, Blitz ran to the console and pressed a button. Bollards lifted from the ground and the truck was lifted into the air, flipping over onto its top; it scraped along the road, quickly. It hit the outer wall with a smash, finally ceasing to move.

Blitz ran with the other cloaked figure to the the truck, keeping their distance and aiming at the drivers window. Blitz slowly moved forwards and kicked in the window, showing the heavily bloodied man unconscious in the seat, strapped in and hanging there.

"Get him out and I'll get the bomb out the truck..."
"Are you sure about that? It'll be highly dangerous..."
"I know... that's why I'm doing it and not you. You have someone to go back to and I don't... Now get him out of here."
"Alright..."

The other officer dragged the attacker out of the truck and to a safe distance as Blitz smashed the back window open, seeing the IED sitting on the roof of the truck. He carefully picked it up and then, just then, did he momentarily forget his bomb defusing skills. He stared at it for a second before pulling back and putting it on the grass in front of him.

Sweat dripped down his brow, his breath hitched and his hands shaking.
"Alright... I can do this... I've done it before... just... smaller explosives though." He started defusing it, slowly. There wasn't a timer so there was no rush, it was controlled by the primer in the truck.

Once the low buzzing noise had stopped, he believed that it has been defused. He stared at it for a minute. No reaction yet. He sighed with relief and gently handled it back into the truck. He pulled out his radio.

"Truck disabled, bomb defused. Bringing terrorist in for questioning. Over." Blitz stopped the transmission and waited for a response.
A buzz and a female voice came from the radio "Alright, Blitz. Bomb squad is coming to you. Bring him in, out." The buzzing stopped and Blitz looked up, staring at the cloaked figure. The three bright green lenses of the goggles and the waterproof cloak shining in the nightlight seemed slightly eerie to Elias, but he knew they were safe.

The other officer had the terrorist in handcuffs and was pulling them along towards Blitz.

"He woke up then?"
"Yeah, but he hasn't said a word, too embarrassed probably..."
"Hm... I'm sure we can change that once we get inside..."

"Hey! Everyone! Shut up! Porter has something to say!" Dominic shouted across the mess hall, James stood up
"I've been told that about two thirds of the operators sent away have been wounded and the other third are tired out of their arses... Thermite... he almost bloody died last week. Twitch, broke five bones. Fuze barely escaped death after being captured by the fucking white masks." Smoke sighed heavily
"These arseholes... these... monsters are chewing up our family and damaging them. We can't allow this. Whilst they were out fighting against the White Masks we were here doing fucking nothing. So, I think the better thing to do would to let them rest. Let them recover. We can celebrate tomorrow..." Smoke sat back down, allowing Dominic to start again.

"Great speech mate... anyway... the others are coming back today and I want to do something for them... but I know that a couple of them are still in hospitals so we won't be seeing them until they are allowed to travel... uh... the others, however, will be arriving at around 5 this afternoon. That is all..." Bandit sat back down with Smoke, Caveira, Mute and Jäger.

"That was... interesting..." Mute said, looking at his older friend
"Thanks..." Smoke sighed, rubbing his head.

Taina held her boyfriends' hand under the table, squeezing it gently. She was scared for Capitão, she hadn't heard from him since the first day he was in America. Hoping that he was ok, she was still scared for him (of course she wouldn't show that). Dominic was confused as to why she was holding his hand under the table, he looked over to her and saw her usual resting bitch-face. He would never say that though, he's too protective over his own life to do that.

"Taina, are you alright?" He asked quietly,
"Mhm, I'm fine." She nodded at him, "why do you ask?"
"Just wondering... you seem a bit... off? I suppose... I don't know." He trailed off,
"Oh, I'm fine Dom, thank you..." she looked away, into the hall. Bandit could definitely tell something was off, but he couldn't quite get at it.

"I'm going to go back to our room, I don't mind if you come with me Dom..." Taina stood up from the table, stopping the conversation going on between James, Mark, Marius and Dominic.
'This isn't like her...' Bandit though to himself, standing up as well.
"Alright, I'll be with you shortly." Dominic smiled at her, slowly letting go of her hand. She turned away and walked out of the hall, Dominic watching; staring at the second most popular thing about Caveira (you can guess what it was).

Dominic finished the conversation and he got up,
"See you guys later, I'm gonna go say hi to the girlfriend." He smirked and rushed out of the room. Leaving James and Marius rolling their eyes and shaking their heads.

Once Dominic got to the room, he quietly entered; careful not to disturb her if she was napping. He locked the door behind him and looked around the apartment for the girl. After looking around, he saw her on the sofa, reading a book.

"Hey, what's up?" Dominic sat on the edge of the sofa next to Taina, putting a hand softly on her thigh. She placed a bookmark on a page and closed the book, putting it down on her lap. Caveira looked at Bandit, her eyes slightly saddened. A soft hand was placed on his.

"I'm sorry Dom... I just... I'm just..." she sighed and looked down at their hands "I worry for Vicente, I've known him since I was young and I haven't heard from him since the day of their departure. I've tried contacting him but there has been no reply." Caveira seemed saddened, this scared Dominic but it wouldn't mean he wasn't there for her if she ever needed him.

"I'm sure he's fine, Taina. He's a tough guy and I'm sure someone would have told you if he was wounded. They are all coming back to us in one piece today, so I'm sure that everything will be fine. I promise." Dominic smiled softly.
"Thank you Dominic." Taina gave him the smallest smile back, but he knew that she meant it. She wrapped her arms around his neck and she hugged him, burrowing her face in his neck. In turn, he hugged her back and kissed the top of her head.

"I love you, Dominic..." she said, slightly muffled
"I love you too, Taina." He replied, smiling to himself.

Next chapter won't be awhile as I'm going to work on the next chapter for the other story.
