"Happy birthday Princess." That was the greeting that woke her up. She reached for the upper torso of the man that greated her to hug him.
"Thank's Dad."
"Well now, my princess is now a lady. You should sort your priorities more darling, understand?"
She giggle before answering. "Dad, I just turned 15, not 18, okay? Loosen up will you?" laughter then followed. Her father stood up, and patted her thighs, saying "Get your tush downstairs already kiddo, or your gonna be late". I automatically glanced at my bedside clock, 8 AM. She is indeed going to be late. Her class starts at exactly 8:30 in the morning. "Blasted technology! Why didn't you ring" she bursted while hitting the clock.
"Now, now, be sensible will you princess, it's not that's clock's fault that you stayed late last night, which reminds me, why were you up so late last night? "
"Dad i was fininshing a report regarding our lab activity with my major in our previous meeting."
"Make sure it was that and nothing else. You know our agreement, just one incident of hanky panky and your going to your grandma's, understand?"
"YEAh, yeah, I know, I know. No need to remind me everytime. sheesh. You're already nagging dad, and it's still early morning." she answer as she got up of bed and running towards the bathroom.And before she could enter, she added, " dad is there any chance you could drop me off at school? I am actually really running late."
" No worries kiddo, my jag is already out in the driveway."
" Thanks dad, you're the best" she said as she closed the door.
Don Steban walked towards the door, and before closing it he mumbled -
"No worries kiddo, I'm gonna make sure, you're gonna grow up with none of those, as I swore to your mother's death bed."
