My best friends: Reid and Mark.  Mark, the middle one in between Reid and I.  That peace treaty between us.  And Reid, well, no comment, he’s just... Reid.

And, I'm Catherine, the girl of the group. So, I'm left out often. Especially on secrets, like love secrets.

Anyway, my best friends and I have had a bit of drama.

I like Mark, and Reid likes me and we are all best friends.  Drama, right?

Well, all we can do is blame St. Valentine. I think it was his fault.

“Hey, Mark.” I walk over to him.

“Sup, Catherine.”

Reid walks over.

“Hey, guys.”

“So, do y’all want to come over this afternoon? Homework, studying, etc.” I offer.

Both boys reply with, “Soccer. “

Mark goes, “Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, remember?”

Reid says for me, “No, as usual.”

“I have my own extracurricular activities to keep up with, I don’t keep up with y’alls.” I half-sass.

“Of course.” Reid says.

I scoff, then ask, “Anytime this week? I have a huge test. Y’all?”

“Tuesday,” Mark suggests. “I’m free, I also have a big math test.”

“Alright. Reid?” I say, Reid is often pondering, so I’M the one to get his attention. “Reid.” I shake him.

“Yeah, sure.” he says coming to attention.

“Perfect. Anything up Reid?” I ask nicely, for I don’t like to be nosy.

“No.” As usual. He has been doing this often and I would like to know why. I bet Mark knows why, because he’s holding something back. But I don’t pry any further.

“Tuesday, right?” I confirm.

“Right.” the boys both say. Man, they can really talk in unison quite often.

We all start heading off towards our first period class. For me, that would be AP pre-calculus, for the boys, that would be 10th grade science, the two classes we all have switched up.

After school, I walk home. I don’t start my homework right away. I usually have my regular dance/sing party to myself. That is where I turn on Adele or Taylor Swift and dance away, improv or other. Not even the boys have been to one of mine. They are my little thing.

Tuesday after school, I don’t have one because the boys walk home with me. It is soo much fun walking home with them. We swapped carrying backpacks and complain whose is heaviest. Then, I see if I can push one of them over and they do the same to me. The winner everytime, me. I AM a dancer, they are soccer players. Uhhh, dancers have a better core.

When we got home, we decided that my backpack was heaviest. I practically brought home my entire locker.

"Man, Catherine. Did you bring home your locker?" Mark drops my backpack to the ground. And he drops too.

"Correction. My locker AND my books. I don't think my actually locker would be that heavy."

Reid laughs, Mark groans, and I have a big grin on my face for NOT having to carry that home. Hehe.
