An Unexpected Encounter (chapter 1)

It was a warm April 12th day, sunny actually with a high of 88, and 19 year old Ally Dawson sat in the back seat of her fathers car sketching in her sketch book with her feet up. Her dad was driving and her step mom making random conversation

Meanwhile, her younger half brother Cody, was playing video games.

" honey aren't you excited for spring break?" Her dad asked

" oh yea.. so excited" she said with full sarcasm without looking up

" sweetie" Lester said

It was spring break, and her father Lester Dawson signed her up to stay at Moon resort in an attempt to have " a good time"

Ally isn't much of a " have a good time" kinda person, in fact, she enjoyed sketching and playing music over partying dispute her friends trying to get her out of the house.

" Allison, I'm brining you here because you need to get out of the house, your therapist thinks it's a great idea and I agree you need to stop moping around the house playing"

" my music? Which brings me peace and comfort? Or my drawings? Dad you're wasting your money.. I'm gonna end up doing those things here anyways" Ally said

" I just want you to have the spring break of your life" he said

" oh Les I'm sure she'll have lots of fun with cute boys and parties" Midge said trying to lighten the mood

" ew what boy would want her " the little boy said harshly turning to Ally " she's too moody isn't that why Bradley dumped you"

" shut it you brat.. you're forgetting you're being shipped off to your grandma's" ally shot back " and for your information, I dumped Bradley!"

" mom?" Cody said " I thought  we were going to universal!!!"

" surprise?" Midge said looking at Ally with frustration

She smiled coldly and looked away to the window

It's true, she rather stay home all spring break before going back to college. Despite many offers from her friends, she turned them down.

This wasn't her scene and she wasn't going to enjoy this, she had already decided.

After arriving and the Moon resort

The family was all amused except for Ally

She adjusted her hat and got her things out the back

Once in her hotel room her dad came to say good bye

" bye baby.. behave" her father said

" I always do... two weeks dad and I'm home.." Ally said " looking at the empty bed next to her

" at least you'll have a roommate" he said " you girls will get along great, and you never know sweetie.. something interesting could happen I feel it"

" I'm so much more excited now" she took off her hat and shook out her hair

" sweetheart, I just want you to have fun, meet new people, learn something new and cool." Her father said " most of all s stress free, you worry too much"

" Dad, I can't help that more than once in awhile I feel impending doom ." She explained

" Allison please!" He begged " you never know, you might end up having the time of your life"

She rolled her eyes " fine" she dragged " I'll try to have fun"

" that's my girl.. love you"
Her father kissed her forehead and made his way out
