Ebony- I run away

How long has it been? Three weeks or was it two? Well, screw it, it's not like it matters anyway. I left that foster home for a reason, sure I now have nobody there for me but who was at any point in my life. I was left at the orphanage after my mother vanished and my dad committed suicide. Yea, the idea that I may have had a family worries me, since I have never had one in my life. I would have had to have one screwed up one to "earn" ADHD and dyslexia from them. Plus I look nothing like your normal sixteen year old. Me with my ebony black hair, literally silver eyes, skinny figure wearing torn jeans and a ragged tank top. Carrying the most dingy colored backpack you could find at the local Walmart.

It's a miracle I haven't attracted these monsters earlier. I may as well have been sending off a Batman signal into the sky screaming: " FREE FOOD HERE!" I stood here, in a dead forest at midnight no less, carrying only a bow and three arrows and a sad little dagger I all found out here. Not to mention I am slowly starving. That's when I saw the dang thing again. That same lion that seemed to know where I was but didn't attack me although I shot every arrow I could at him. Either I missed or his skin rejected it. At first I blamed myself if I hit him but it didn't pierce his skin, I though my arrows were dull but the gash on my hand says otherwise. What did my old history teacher call it in the feats of Hercules? Oh yea, the nemean lion. Makes sense, I have been seeing other weird crap this past week. I could have sworn I have seen pegisi, hell hounds, even the occasional cyclops. But that's what I have seen, not what is chasing me. I have three women with bat-like features carrying flaming whips. I have been running from them for a week at most, but with those after you a minute is too much. I have noticed though, they have an obvious leader but that's the only one out of their group that has any brains. The other two I swear either were not created with them or they just lost brain cells over time. Well anyway, I have killed them time and time again only to have them after me again after about an hour. I have had to take to hiding from them instead of fighting. I would have kept fighting though but a woman's voice in my head advised me not to. She seems to know what to say to help me and in a voice that sounds like she knows me so well she could be my mother....but I don't have a mother.

Just then, that's when I saw it. The camp my visions have been showing me: Strawberry fields with hybrid goat boys plaing panpipes, teenagers about my age practicing swordplay, centaurs shooting bows... WAIT Bows? Finally I can learn the art of archery for once! My happy moment was busted though, Bat ladies 1, 2, and 3 decided to show up. "Why don't you just stay dead?" I asked them with exasperation as they approached me. In a raspy voice, one calls out to me; "Your not supposed to live." the leader calls out, soon another follows in almost a singsong voice, " The goddess broke her oath." The last one continues their threat. "You shall pay for her dishonesty!" On that last note, the final one dive at me. I roll to the side to dodge her at the last second. "Megaera! Don't harm the child! Hades wants her alive and without mutilation." The leader calls out furiously. "Alecto, this child is only a broken oath, not a prized trophy." The other unnamed one takes a hold of me around my neck: "We should kill her now, save us a whole Olympus of trouble." I drew my dagger I had hidden and stabbed her into her chest. With a scream she wend down and turned to dust, right after dropping me. "TISIPHONE!" The two left called out. I had stood and now had two murderous eyes focused on me. "Um....whoops?" I turned to run but felt a sharp pain in my back and a crack sound following. I could feel my own blood soaking my shirt as I attempted to stand in agonizing pain. "Give in and give it to us." Megaera puts out her hand. "I don't have whatever it is you want!" I yelled as I held my dagger murderously. "Give the silver apple to us." " I have no silver apple!!! That is an impossible thing anyway!" Then came the best thing ever. I saw a sword with a blue hilt impail Alecto, turning her into dust right along her sister. "DIE DAUGHTER OF THE NIGHT!" Magaera threw her whip around my body as I went to run past the tree at the top of the hill to the camp. I went crashing down to the ground, enough to knock the wind out of me. She flew to me and went to impail her claws into my skin but her small brain forgot one detail. My dagger went right into her stomach and turned her into ash. I cut the lines around me and went to stand but a wave of nausea hit me. "Ooh...." I could hear footsteps behind me to catch my frail body as I fell, everything was black.
