♡; the colors got faded

Thousands of stars are glowing in the skies and one of them is reminding me of you. Your smile was ever-so bright whenever I had the chance to witness it. Your eyes always almost disappeared and I've never seen anything so admirable. One day you said that you have to go out and I just nodded, giving you a quick peck on the lips before the door closed.

You never returned.

I searched for you everywhere. I asked our neighbours if they saw you, I also asked random people on the streets if they did, but no one seemed to know the right answer. As if you completely vanished out of this world with no traces of you left behind.

The second day, I had to call the cops. I was so scared, because you did never stay anywhere for this long. That just wasn't the kind of thing that you would do.

They immediately arrived in front of our house and asked me some questions such as when did I see you for the last time, what were you wearing etc.

They reassured me with their words, giving me warm smiles.

"Don't worry, we are going to find him as soon as possible. There isn't a place where he could get lost, he probably just fell asleep on a bench."

It has already been 5 months and the other half of our bed is still empty, its surface colder than the freezing wind outside.
