Night is my favorite time of day. Everyone is asleep and you know you don't have to worry about anything until the sun comes up. For now, you have the moon. I like to admire the moon a lot more than the average person. I look up to the moon like a mother. Not that my own mother isn't a good mother, it's just that the moon is.. comforting. And most times, my own mother is not. The moon is there for me, it's bright light reflecting on my face. I feel free at night.
My thoughts got interrupted by my Geometry teacher. "There are going to be proof's on your exam!! I will handout the studyguide tomorrow and we will go over it, Wednesday after seminar." She announces right as the bell rings. Talk about perfect timing. I pick up my things and start heading to Choir. Of course, Adam interrupts me.
"How was your break?" He asks as if he cares.
"Good." I try to be short with him, hopefully he knows how to take a hint.
"How are you right now?"
"Same as every other day." I say with no sign of emotion on my face nor in my voice. I have no idea what has happened between us if I'm being completely honest. One day, over Christmas break, we were talking and the more and more he talked the more and more annoyed I had got. Also, my brain has been in a weird place lately. I can't focus on anything and I have never felt so unmotivated to do just about anything.
"Hey, Mariah!" Haylee, one of my best friends, calls my name from across the hall and with that, all three of us walk to fourth period.
