A Little Bit Of Light

A/N: this is short, so just bare with me

Evan walked into the school building, looking down at his feet. He didn't want any attention, for fear of being made fun of, but he also wanted to be noticed. It was so confusing, an interesting mix of emotions. He wanted to attract the attention of most people, especially bullies, but he wanted someone to care that he had even entered the hallway. Little did he know, someone did.

Connor strictly kept his head facing his locker, but he couldn't help to sneak a few glances at the boy in a blue striped polo.

"Cute," he thought to himself as he blushed madly.

Why couldn't he just get the courage to talk to Evan? It wasn't like Hansen was one of the popular people who thought they were better than everyone, but he was scared of Connor.

Not much of a surprise. Connor scared pretty much everyone away from him with his looks. Tousled, long, brown hair, dark clothing, large bags under his eyes most of the time. He looked like your typical depressed stoner. If he could just tell him, tell Evan how he felt. Maybe Evan could bring a little light into his dark world.

~time skip~

The rhythmical tapping of his neighbor's pencil was enough to make Evan's head turn. Next to him sat Connor Murphy, long brown hair cascading down his shoulders, a loose black hoodie that seemed to perfectly drape around his tall, lean yet slightly muscular frame, and dark, brooding grey eyes that stared anywhere but the whiteboard.

His presence sort of enthralled Evan. He just had this kind aura about him that Evan could feel, even underneath all of Connor's emotional walls, Evan could see right through his angry mystique. Maybe it was just that Evan had a deeper understanding of emotions than most people, or maybe it was that, though the two seemed so different, underneath they were the same. Two confused teenagers, with crippling emotions swirling around and complicating everything, with fears and insecurities that held them back from accomplishing their goals, people who just needed something, or rather, someone to hold on to.

They both needed a little bit of light for their both very dark worlds.
