He knew he looked like them… He spoke… Similarly… To them.

However he was different to them… He was not a pathetic human.

He was stronger… Faster… Smarter…

He could adapt faster than they could… And they… Guarded his prey.

Too bad.

Humans always expected aliens to be subtle and cover their tracks… Or to wipe the entire world out.

He wouldn’t do either.

He would kill the prey.

“Julia!” He yelled at her, she spun, “I’m not getting into this Stan. It’s over… It’s already done.”

Stan’s eye twitched, “Done? How can it be done? We only took possession yesterday!”

Julia shrugged, “Someone high up came for it.”

Stan frowned, “How high?”

Julia glared, “High enough that Langley becomes talkative when you mention their name.”

Stan winced, “Damn…”

Julia shrugged, “It’s done. Leave it at that… Let me deal with why they wanted a two thousand year old dino egg.”

Stan nodded, evidently in shock, “Sure…”

Julia turned and began walking again, down the wide open corridors with myriads of fossils…

The museum was her second home…

She walked towards her office, pushing the small side door open revealed a tiny cramped room, completely impossible to work in and keep tidy.

Papers lay strewn everywhere…

Julia compared it to her mental snapshot she’d taken before she left… The pattern was different.

She frowned, the air conditioner wasn’t on… So it couldn’t have blown them around…

And then a hand was on her shoulder, she span and saw a frowning man, “I sorry, English not good.”

She blinked, “Who the hell are you?”

The man grinned broadly, “I search. The egg. The prey.”

Julia’s eyebrows rose, “Ok…”

The man sighed, speaking normally all of a sudden, “Who and what are very different questions. However the who is irrelevant, so I substituted the relevant information. Where has the egg gone?”

Julia swallowed, “What?”

The man sighed and pushed her; she flew backwards, flying head over heels and then the door behind her closed.

The man crouched over her as she looked up from the floor, he grabbed her scalp, “Where is my prey? Who took the egg? And where are they taking it? Don’t make me get rough. I hate hurting women.”

Julia swallowed, wondering what rough was if he thought throwing her into a flip was gentle…

“Langley took it.”

The man frowned, “Langley?”

Julia swallowed, “Have you been living under a rock?”

The man grinned at that, “Sort of actually…”

Julia winced, “Langley is where the CIA is…”

“Ahh… The American Central Intelligence Agency.”
