I'm outside Shawn's apartment, trying to find a place to park my car. I finally find a great place after like 10 minutes of searching and park the car. I take a deep breath, grab my purse and I get out of my beautiful beetle. As I start walking to the entrance I start getting more and more nervous. I get into the guests' elevators and do exactly what Shawn told me to do, which was typing some kind of password, his Apartment number and name or something like that. As I see that I'm getting closer to his floor I start getting anxious. Don't worry Em, just be you, don't fake anything, just be you. You're a really nice chick, you don't have to worry about anything. I love how my mind divides itself in two, one side tells me I'm good, and things are going to be okay, and the other it's all reverse, it tells me everything is about to go downhill. The elevator stops and opens it's doors, I get out and start walking to Shawn's apartment. Okay take a deep breath Em, and be you, don't force anything, just be you. Just like Jen said let life guide you. I knock on Shawn's door and take my phone out to look kind of busy. Suddenly the door opens and there he is wearing a navy blue shirt, black jeans and his curly hair is messy.
"Hey! Come in." Shawn greeted me with a smile and opened the door wider to let me come in.
"Hi! Thank you" I say walking into his apartment which is perfectly clean and everything is spotless. Shawn shuts the door and turns to look at me with that damn smile of his.
"I'm glad you could make it, I thought you were avoiding me or something like that." He said with a smirk at the last part.
"Yeah I'm glad too tha- Wait! What? What is that supposed to mean? Is it because of the phone number? Because if it is, I swear it was an accident, I didn't meant to give you another number. If I wanted to get rid of you I wouldn't have sent you the text. By the way, who's phone number did I gave you?"
"I don't know if he is a friend or cousin of yours, but the guy's name was Terry." Shawn looks at me wanting to know of I know the guy, which I don't. I never have heard of a guy named Terry, so I just shake my head no to Shawn, and he continues his story. "I started sending you texts telling you to have good day, and asking how your day was, and when you didn't answered any of the texts, I decided to call you. But a guy answered me instead telling me he wasn't interested in anything that I was selling so he told me to fuck off and leave him alone." He says to me and I can't help but notice what he said about sending me texts about how my day was going, what a sweet guy.
"Oh my god!" I say laughing, "I swear it was an accident I don't even know a Terry. I'm so sorry."
"Nah, don't worry I have your number now, so there's nothing to worry about. Would you like something to drink?" Shawn says walking to his spotless kitchen.
"Yes, please"
"Okay, what would you like? I have water, tea, soda, juice." He says looking at his refrigerator. I guess I'll ask for water, that's what we're supposed to ask according to my mother to be polite. So we don't make things complicated.
"Water please." Shawn nods and goes for a glass, why did I asked for water I hate water, "Wait! Who am I kidding do you have tea?" I'm not a water person never been, and I never will be, screw the politeness.
"Yeah" Shawn says with a chuckle.
"Is it iced tea or hot tea? "
"Iced, I'm Canadian not British" Shawn jokes with a smile. Please stop smiling I'm dying inside. He grabs the glass and fills it with iced tea, then he hands it to me. "Here you go."
"Thanks" I grab the tea and Shawn returns to the kitchen to get his glass of iced tea and then returns to stand in front of me. He raises his glass and looks at me straight in the eye.
