Tris's POV
Um... Did Four just tell me he's being abused? My head is spinning right now. I give him a questioning glare.
"What did you just say?" I ask. He glances around nervously.
"I didn't say anything." He says, brushing off the question.
"I don't have to be Christina to know that you're lying right now." I respond.
"We came her to discuss your problems, not mine, so let's just do that." He says coldly. Ugh, he's being so difficult.
"You just admitted to it," I say, as sympathetically as i can. "We can talk somewhere else if you want to."
"It's not going to be a problem soon," He says quietly. "I don't need your sympathy." His eyes look sad, he looks... Broken.
"If you don't need my sympathy, can you help me out with something?" I ask. He gives me a questioning look. "A little secret agent project of mine."
"Go on." He says, listening intently.
"My father says he's only got two cameras. I have a feeling he's lying." I whisper. "Do you know anything about hacking computers?"
"I know a thing or two..." He answers. "Why should I do this again?"
"I'll stop asking about you're problems if you help me with mine," I reply. "Simple, really." He rolls his eyes and then nods.
"Fine." He responds. Victory. "But i'm not doing this without a plan. I don't want to be caught breaking in to your house twice."
"I'll figure out where the cameras are." I say confidently. He rolls his eyes at me.
"If you didn't know they were there, they're going to be harder to find than you think." He says, he has annoyance in his face, probably at my stupidity. I probably should have planned this a bit better.
"But before i wasn't looking for the security cameras," I respond, trying to redeem myself. "If i'm actually looking, I'm going to find them."
"Sure you are." He says sarcastically.
"Can you have at least a little faith in me?" I ask. He chuckles.
"I don't think I can." He responds.
"Okay then." I say, standing up from the park bench. "Goodbye." I start to walk away.
"Just how exactly are you planning to get home?" He asks, half laughing and half confused.
"Your not my only taxi driver," I respond. "I'll call Christina and she'll pick me up." I say confidently.
"Okay, bye." He says, getting up and walking in the direction of his car.
Was he always that much of a jerk? I probably didn't notice because i tried to see otherwise. I pick up my phone and dial Christina's number.
Four's POV
I'm extremely pleased with myself today (note the sarcasm). I told Tris about Marcus accidentally and I stuffed things up with her. Am I capable of being supportive of people?
I hop in my car and start driving back to my house. As i drive the phone starts to ring. I ignore it, I'll call back later.
I arrive home and when I get out of the car I check who the missed call was. It was Marcus. How can I manage to make three bad moves today when it's only 8:30 in the morning. He is not going to be happy. I call him again, he takes a few rings to answer.
"Why didn't you pick up before?" Is the first thing he says to me. "I don't have time to play phone tag!"
"I was driving, I couldn't pick up." I respond. He's not going to care about my excuse, I know this.
"That's the best excuse you could think of?" He laughs. "You really are pathetic, Tobias."
I don't respond to him.
"Anyway, I was letting you know that I come back on Tuesday." He says. This gives my time to plan how to ruin his life as much as he has ruined mine. "I want everything to be spotless when I arrive back."
"Yes, sir" I respond. He hangs up the phone.
I can't go through with this plan alone. I think to myself. I need somebody who knows what i'm going through. The only person I've ever told is Tris. I don't think it was very helpful for me to tell her plan is stupid when I need her for my plan which is even more stupid.
I hesitate to grab my phone. Should I call her?
Tris's POV
RING RING RING. I hear my phone go off. I'm still at the park, waiting for Christina to come and pick me up. I check the caller ID, it's Four. Do i really want to answer? I'm not in a good mood right now.
I answer anyway.
"What?" I ask coldly.
"I'd like to change our deal," He responds.
"Of course you do," I say. "What do you have in mind?"
"I'll help you with your thing, you help me with what i'm doing." He says simply. That doesn't sound bad actually.
"And what is this that your doing?" I question him.
"You'll find out after I help you." He says. "I need to go now, bye."
"Bye." I say and hang up the phone. That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm still mad at him though.
I see Christina's car come around the corner and i walk towards her.
"How many times do am I going to need to pick you up?" She laughs, as I open the door and hop into the passenger seat.
"Probably a lot!" I grin, laughing with her.
"Do you want to go to Candor Cafe?" She asks. "I have something to talk to you about."
"Sure!" I respond, and she starts driving us to Candor Cafe.
It's not actually called Candor Cafe, that's what Zeke calls it because everyone there is honest. It gets really obnoxious there sometimes, Christina fits in great.
Christina parks her car outside the cafe and we walk inside. Christina points out a cute little table for two and we sit down.
"So..." I say, starting the conversation. "What did you want to talk about?"
"Well..." She starts. "Will may or may have not asked me out!" She squeals with excitement.
"When?" I ask, baffled. "Between the hours of 6:30 and 9:00 in the morning?"
"It might be from before that..." She says slowly.
I'm about to respond when I hear a familiar voice from behind us.
"Tris? Christina? Is that really you?"
