Prologue
It was 3 long years ago. 3 long years yet I can still hear the desperate screams that left their mouths. Coming in from school was usually my haven. When everything disappeared. The bullying, the teasing, the trouble. All gone. But that day all I wanted was to rewind time even if it meant another day of enduring the hardship of school life. I knew we were in danger but I never knew it would happen so suddenly. Their heavy footsteps stomping into the room. The small mark on their right shoulder. My parents faces as they exchanged panicked glances. "Run" was the first thing my dad managed to sputter out but my feet were glued to the floor "CHARLIE RUN!" My mother cried this time. I don't know why, I don't why I obeyed but I did. I turned, and without looking back, I ran as fast as I could. In the opposite direction to my endangered parents.
