"Oh God, I can't believe I actually said that out loud. What am I going to do? What am I supposed to do?" Luna began rambling as she leapt off her seat, pacing around the kitchen. She instantly began biting her fingernails as Liz watched her in slight alarm. Liz caught Luna by the arm and pulled her to a stop.
"What you need to do first is calm down. Don't worry about anything, just continue to be yourself."
"Liz, now that I've said it out loud I can't just brush it off like normal. It's not exactly how I operate. It's constantly going to be there and I'm going to feel awkward around him. What if he figures it out on his own and decides he can no longer be friends with me?"
"That's not going to happen. I've known Michael long enough that to know that he wouldn't do that to you."
"How do you know!?" Luna's voice jumped up the octave as Luke walked into the kitchen causing them both to freeze. His eyes raked over the scene before shrugging and heading for the fridge. Luna glanced her eyes down as Liz released her shoulders.
"Hey mumma, the guys and I were wondering when dinner would be ready?" Liz straightened up and gave her son a small grin.
"I'm about to get it started, it shouldn't take too long."
Luke nodded before exiting, glancing at Luna one last time. Normally, she would be up for telling him her problems later, but not this time. Liz got to work getting dinner ready, checking Luna over every now and again to make sure she was keeping her cool.
"What do I tell Luke? He's already asked me about it once before and I told him that I wasn't sure. How do you think he'll handle it now that I've actually figured it out?"
"If he didn't react badly, when he first asked you about it then I think that if given time he'll accept it. I know he plays the protective role, but he always wants you to be happy as well."
"I think I'll keep it just between us for a little while. I don't want to start anything. Sorry for freaking out though."
"Oh that's nothing. Maybe, you could talk to Mali about it. I heard you two got along well."
"Maybe I should, I absolutely love her. I'll go see if I can't get her number from Cal. Thanks Liz." Luna wrapped her arms around her guardian before running out of the room.
As she approached Luke's bedroom door she immediately heard Ashton's giggle. She knocked before opening the door and finding the three boys playing a video game.
"How's the game boys?"
"Luke keeps losing. Want to hang out?" Ashton set his controller down and pat his hand on the floor next to him.
"Sure, but I actually needed something. Cal, can I get Mali's number from you? I need to talk to her about something."
Calum nodded and pulled his phone from his pocket. Luke's eyes were on her curiously, making her feel slightly guilty. After all she told Luke basically everything. Once she added Mali to her contacts she quickly shot her a message before sitting down next to Ashton.
"Soo, what were you freaking out about with mum?" Luke questioned her, his voice causing the other two boys to stop and look at her as well.
"Nothing, just something silly. Have you guys checked on your cover lately? Last, I looked it had quite the amount of views. It shouldn't be too much longer before you get swept up." Luna quickly tried to change the subject, her voice slipping up an octave.
"That would be amazing, but I don't know if we're ready for that yet." Calum sighed as he leaned against Luke's bed, not noticing the shift in her voice or if he did, he wasn't going to comment on it. Luna shook her head, honestly she felt that the boys had no faith in themselves. She knew they were going to be a big band someday. She began texting Mali, while the boys went back to their game. She heard Luke groan and set his controller down.
