Tris's POV

I slowly turn around to see the face of  my ex boyfriend, David. We broke up after he told me he was moving to San Francisco last year.

"David? What are you doing back here?" Christina asks.

"I'm here for a week visiting some relatives." He responds. "Tris, can I talk to you alone for a second?"

"Don't worry, I need to get home anyway." Christina says, standing up from her seat. "Bye Tris, bye David." she says, waving as she walks toward the exit.

We never even ordered our coffee.

David takes a seat where Christina was a second ago. I don't honestly want to talk to him right now.

"Why do you want to talk to me?" I ask. "You didn't call, text or bother to contact me in any way for a year! And you want to talk now?" I see a slightly hurt look on his face.

"I..." He stutters. "You didn't try contact me either!" He shouts at me, drawing some attention from other people in the cafe.

"I'm not doing this right now." I say, standing up from my chair and walking towards the exit. As I exit through the doorway, I hear David from behind me.

"Tris, wait!" He calls out. I ignore him and keep walking. I walk until he gives up on following because he knows I won't listen.

Four's POV

every time I go into deeper thought about this party idea, I think it's stupid. Incredibly stupid and irrational. This party isn't going to effect him much. I'm still doing it though. I hear a knock at the door and I rush downstairs to get it.

I open the door and see the same woman who keeps showing up at my house.

"What do you want?" I ask harshly. This woman is starting to annoy me.

"Are you Tobias Eaton?" she says. I cringe at the sound of my name. Only my father knows my real name.

"Why?" I respond.

"I'm Evelyn Johnson-Eaton. Your-"

"Mother?" I cut her off. She nods and starts trying to speak.

"You only come for me after so many years of me being torture." She frowns and starts trying to speak again. "Go away." I say.

I turn toward my house and walk through the front door. I close and lock it behind me.

Tris's POV

I walk towards the front door of my house and see someone open. I see my father walk through the door towards me in the driveway.

"Dad, I need a favour." I say as he walks towards me. He gestures at me to continue. "Where are the cameras? specifically." He sighs.

"Are you going to keep asking until i tell you?" He asks. I nod and he sighs again. "I'll show you the back one later, i'm in a rush, but the front one is there." he says pointing to a hedge at the front of our house. I inspect the hedge closer, and sure enough, there is a hidden camera.

"I need to go to work now." He says, rushing in the car and waving at me as he drives away.

I observe the camera. How didn't i notice it?

I grab a piece of chewing gum from my pocket and pop it in my mouth. After a minute of chewing I take the gum from my mouth and place it over the camera lens to cover it's view.

Whoops.

My mother's car isn't in the driveway so I don't think she's home. I walk back inside the house.

"Caleb!" I shout. No response.

I pull out my phone and text Four.

TRIS: Hey Four, are you free right now?

FOUR: yes, why?

TRIS: I need some help for my mission. Nobody is home and I covered the camera.

FOUR: you want me to come over now?

TRIS: No, i want you to come next Tuesday.

FOUR: haha, very funny. I'll see you soon.

I wait in the lounge room by the front door until I hear the doorbell. I rush over to the door and see Four when I open it. I let Four inside and I lead him towards the office.

I open the door slowly I walk over and stand by the computer.

"Do you know how to figure out passwords?" I ask. I should have checked all of this before I started the secret spy mission.

"Easy." He respond, walking over and sitting in the chair positioned in front of the computer. After a minute of tapping around on the keyboard the computer unlocks.

"What was the password?" I ask, "It will be handy for future situations."

"It was nataliecalebbeatrice56?" He responds.

"My mother, my brother and me." I explain.

"I assumed." He replies. "And the number?" He asks.

"Absolutely no idea." I respond, and it's the truth.

He turns back to the computer and then looks back at me.

"Are you looking for anything specific?" He asks. "Or is this just a wild goose chase?" I roll my eyes at him.

"Right now, I don't know." I respond. He gives me an 'are you serious' look and turns back to the computer. "Just check emails." I say, giving him something to do.

He gestures for me to sit down at the other chair in the office room so I do. After about a minute of searching, Four finally speaks.

"Your father sends and receives quite a few emails from Ms. Matthews." He says, still staring at the computer screen.

"Her complaints about me most likely." I respond. I don't know what business my father would have with Ms. Matthews other than that.

I keep sitting while Four looks through a bunch of emails.

"Tris, you should probably check this out." He says, looking up from the screen finally and facing me. "There is a little more than a few from Ms. Matthews, there are hundreds."

I get up from my seat and walk over to the computer, he's right. 238 emails from Jeanine Matthews.

"She must complain about me a lot." Is all i say. He gives me another 'are you serious look'.

"I think it's more than just 'I hate your daughter' emails." He responds. "Plus, if i were her, i wouldn't waste my energy emailing your parents 238 times." He has a bit of a point.

Four clicks on the most recent email, it has no subject.

Andrew,

Stop trying to ignore me. I know that you love me as much as I love you. Don't let anyone get in the way of our relationship. Stop ignoring me, I know you read these.

Sincerely, Jeanine
