My Bunny (Hide x Kaneki) HIATUS

That night when the snow fell

Kaneki's POV

The snow kept falling, burying the bodies that were lost in the battle. It covered the blood of sin, returning innocence to the world. Yet, the smell of blood was still there, the taste of it filled my mouth. Hide was in my arms and I could feel his warmth slowly losing its temperature. Slowly, I walked towards him.

It was my last battle.

Pain traveled from my eye to the back of my head. I couldn't see anything. Slowly I collapsed. Everything went pitch black. Like the color of death.

The clock stroke twelve and spun anti-clockwise.

Slowly I opened my eyes and found myself standing in the snow under the streetlight. I looked down, only to find myself young again.

Was I reborn?

Then that means... Hide is still alive!

Excited by this thought, I looked around but the place was unfamiliar. I didn't know where I was.

"Mom look! There's a little boy!"

I turned around. It was a girl who was about my age and her mother.

The woman bent down to face me.

"Are you lost? " the woman asked.

"Yes..." I said.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Ken Kaneki," I replied.

"Can I take you to the police officers, Kaneki kun? Then we can send you back home." she said.

I nodded.

3rd person POV

The police officer looked at the video that was recorded by the camera on the street where Kaneki was found.

In the video, a tall slender woman was talking to Kaneki. Kaneki recognized the woman immediately. It was Asaoka, his aunt. Kaneki learned lip language in battles so he was able to understand what she was saying in the video.

"Stay here and don't move," she said and walked away, leaving Kaneki behind.

The woman was shocked to see how cruel Asaoka was to just leave a young boy on the streets.

"Kaneki kun would you like to stay at my house for tonight?" she asked kindly.

"Yes ma'am," Kaneki said.

The woman lead Kaneki to their home, which was practically a mansion. For Kaneki, who was poor for two lifetimes, he was kind of excited to explore the mansion.

"So Kaneki kun, I'm Takahashi san." the woman introduced herself.

"And my name is Yuuka Takahashi!" the girl said excitedly. " Mom, can we adopt Kaneki kun? You've always wanted a son."

"Well, it depends if Kaneki kun is willing to." Takahashi san replied. "Will you mind that, Kaneki kun?"

"No I don't, " Kaneki said. He looked around the room, trying to find something.

"Um, Takahashi san? Do you have a phone I can use? I want to call someone." Kaneki asked.

"Are you sure about that, Kaneki kun? It's midnight," she replied," if it's not something important, maybe you can do that tomorrow."

'She's right,' Kaneki thought. 'It's midnight so Hide must be asleep. I guess I'll have to find him tomorrow.'

"Kaneki kun," Takahashi san said. "If you want I can take you the store to buy you a phone tomorrow. "

"Any phone would be fine. Thank you." Kaneki said, smiling for the first time.
