Your pov
My alarm clock goes off at 4:00 A.M. and I walk to the kitchen like a zombie. I eat breakfast and get dressed, a grey sweatshirt, black leggings, and a leather jacket that my used-to-be-best friend Thomas gave me.
I grew up next to Thomas Brody Sangster and we were 'inseparable' as my mother liked to say. I guess 'inseparable' didn't include him acting all the time and forgetting about me and my mother and father dying when I was six. I used to help him practice his lines and calm him down when he got nervous about an audition and he did the same with me. I was in a few movies, but nothing spectacular enough to become famous like him. I don't think that I'll see him again, but I've moved on with my life, even if it did break my heart when he left. I loved him. Maybe I still do, but it's one of those crushes that you know you'll sadly never meet. Though, it feels like more than a crush and I already met him. It's been almost six years since we've last talked. We would talk over the phone and on Skype, but eventually we both stopped calling each other. We've both just been too busy with our acting.
I got a call from my adoptive brother telling me that he's directing The Maze Runner and he wants me to be there because he knows that I love the books with all my heart. He didn't tell me who the cast was, he just said that it was no one that I would know and we're mostly the same age.
I grab my suitcase, phone, and guitar and head out the door. My flight leaves at six and I'll probably spend an hour if not two hours getting past security. I get a cab and tell the driver where I'm going. I get past security two hours later and almost miss my flight. For the next ten and a half hours, I look at old pictures of me and Thomas. I come across this one when we were four and had a water fight and we were drenched to the point where if somebody poured a bucket of water on us, we wouldn't get any wetter than we already were. I smile and after that, I put away my phone and slowly start to fall asleep.
I wake up and I'll only be on the plane another minute. I get off the plane and get my luggage, checking to make sure it's mine. I look around at the people holding up signs with names on them. I see one that says, 'NERD GIRL' and walk towards it. Nerd girl is Wes's nickname for me because I'm always reading.
I see Wes and wave with a huge smile on my face. "Hey Wes!" I call.
He puts the sign down and smiles. "Hey, Y/N." He says.
I excitedly hug him. "I missed you." I say when we stop hugging.
"I missed you to." He smiles. "C'mon, you've been traveling all day, you should get some sleep. You're staying at the same hotel as the cast and on the same floor. You'll meet them tomorrow." He says with a smile.
I nod my head and get in his car. On the way to the hotel, we start to catch up.
"What's wrong?" He asks suddenly.
"What are you talking about?" I say confused.
He chuckles. "Y/N, I'm your brother. I know when something's bothering you. Now what's on your plate?"
I realize what he's talking about and sigh. "I don't know. I just-I really miss Thomas. Remember when we tried out for the same play?" I say laughing at the look of horror that comes across his face.
"That, was a disaster!" He says. It really was. We knocked over all the props and even most of the lights. Dont ask how, I don't know. "You'll see him soon. I promise." He says sincerely.
"I don't think he even remembers me. He's such a big actor, and he probably has other friends now." I say sadly.
"You're a big actor too! And I know for a fact that your all he talks about" Wes insists.
