Spring, 2009.

The moment her dad opened the door of the car, Haeun could hear the whimsical carnival music playing from afar. It got her overly excited and she was like a time-bomb ticking, ready to explode with happiness at any moment. Being so eager to get into Lotte World, Haeun attempted to jump out of her father's SUV.

"Woah, take it easy princess, you don't wanna get hurt." Her dad said as he stopped the little girl by holding up a hand.

Haeun's father carried the fidgeting nine year old from the backseat and plopped her down on the ground. Her dad grabbed on to her hand as he locked the car, not wanting the reckless little girl to run around the carpark and endangering herself.

As they started walking towards the entrance of the place, Haeun's parents held both of Haeun's hands, sandwiching her in between them. Haeun could hear the music getting louder and louder as they approached the gargantuan building, which made her overly excited.

"Are you excited to go to Lotte World, princess?" Haeun's father smiled down at her.

"Yes! Yes!" Haeun replied with much enthusiasm as she started hopping on her feet.

"Then let's go!" Haeun's father added.

Haeun yelled in excitement, causing her mother to giggle at her childlike behaviour. Haeun's parents then hoisted and swung her up in the air which the little girl responded by ecstatically screaming at the top of her lungs. Haeun's parents couldn't be happier to see their precious little angel this thrilled to go to Lotte World.

All at once, Haeun took in the magical atmosphere of the park as her eyes darted around the place, her glance never fixed in one position for more than two seconds. When her eyes shifted to the Merry-go-round, Haeun started jumping before dragging her parents towards the ring of white and gold horses. It didn't take long for Haeun and her father to get on the ride. When it came to their turn, Haeun's father picked her up and settled her down on a horse, Haeun thought it looked majestic with its gold mane flying in the wind and decided to call it 'Brian'. Brian the horse began moving up and down as the Merry-go-round turned in circles, Haeun was grinning from ear to ear as her father stood beside her to catch her in case she falls. And just like any mother, Haeun's mother stood by the Merry-go-round and took an abundance of photos of her lovely husband and daughter. The ride soon came to an end and Haeun got down of her horse with a blue expression, she turned back and patted her horse one last time.

"Goodbye, Brian." Haeun said with her adorable high pitched voice.

With that, the family left the ride to explore more of Lotte World.

Haeun's parents decided that they wanted to get some food before continuing on with their day. As they looked around for a food stand, they walked passed a gift shop. The gift shop was almost non-existent to Haeun's parents since they weren't interested in spending their money on useless knick-knacks, but it wasn't the case for Haeun. Sitting at the front of the shop, a panda bear plushie caught Haeun's attention and she couldn't get her eyes off it. Haeun first tried tugging her parents towards the gift shop but they ignored her, she pulled their arms with all her strength but they just wouldn't budge an inch. Haeun then stopped dead in her track, acting as if her legs were rooted to the ground and she couldn't move them. But knowing Haeun, her parents just dragged her along as she whined about the panda bear soft toy that she wanted. Soon, they were far away from the gift shop and Haeun whipped her head around, looking at the toy before it disappeared out of her sight.
