Guardian angel
Dipper walked his usual route home, a long day of work behind him and a new Netflix series ahead of him. Like most things, Dipper specifically chose this route so that he could pay no attention to the world around him without meeting his demise. Although Dipper is far from an idiot, and keeps an earbud out to listen for cars.
Crossing the final street needed to get to his own personal haven called home when a bright light momentarily blinded him. When Dipper was able to register his surroundings again he was on his hands and knees in the grass a few meters away from where he was just a moment before. Looking up the brunet sees a car stopped in the road as if it had skidded slightly before ending up where it was. A panicked driver was running over to Dipper as fast as she could.
"No no no no no. Are you okay? You were right in front of my car then... How did you do that?" The woman waited for Dipper to answer he rapid fire questions a panicked look still frozen on her face.
"I uh... I'm fine," He responded slowly, "I don't know what happened but I'm fine." Dipper stood with a slight wobble still feeling as if his stomach was back in the middle of the road along with his balance. Once to his fee he flashes the woman a small smile and says, "Don't worry I'm not hurt at all. But I've actually got to be somewhere right now, sorry." Before the woman had a chance to answer he spun on his heel and continued his walk home, now at a brisk pace.As soon as his house was in view his brisk walk turned into a panicked sprint as what had actually happened began to sink in. After three or four tries he finally unlocks the door only to slam it shut the moment he is inside.
Feeling safer than before he begins to slip off his runners only for the action to be interrupted by a sick cackle that exploded through the small bungalow, "Man kid I haven't seen a reaction like that in ages!"
A short scream escaped the brunets lips as he spun around to see who had broken into his home only to find that he was the only person standing in the foyer. Dipper backed into the corner quickly grabbing the first thing in reach that could be considered a somewhat weapon.
Once sure that he was the only person in the room and that he wouldn't be murdered within the next thirty seconds he began to think of whether or not to call the police.
On one hand, there could be a homicidal maniac in his house. He was sure he hadn't left the T.V. on and it sounded like the voice had come from behind him. And anybody who had a life like the one he heard must be insane.
But on the other hand, Dipper was known to be forgetful at times, and this house was able to carry sound pretty well. Dipper also felt that if someone was here to kill him they would have already done it. Plus he sure as hell was not about to be one of those idiots on T.V. that called the cops because they left their radio running.
Looking down at his phone lost in thought he noticed a faint glow in front of him that caused him to look up. In front of him stood, no floated, a man. Dipper knew that he should have been shitting his pants in fear but all he felt was a sudden wave of calmness flow over him. Dipper looked at the man, noticing that his his fashion sense looked more from the 1900's than now, although there were certain modern element speckled in.
"Are you done staring? 'Cause I have a script I've got to say before anything else," Without waiting for Dipper to Respond the man started to speak again, this time in the most monotone and bored voice the brunet has ever heard, "Fear not Mason, for I am Bill, your guardian angel. Sent down from the heavens to ensure your safety until your life is at its proper end. You are the only person to be able to lay eyes on me for you have been blessed. Once your first life has ended I will walk with you until you second," Bill pause for a second before sighing, "Do you understand?"
A long silence passed over both of them as Dipper thought this over. Finally Dipper spoke up, "So uh... Bill, would you mind if you called me Dipper? I prefer it over my real name." Another long silence passed over them as Bill just stared at Dipper. Feeling like he should say something else he added, "So who did you piss off to get stuck here?"
Suddenly Bill burst out laughing, the same cackle as before filled the tiny room, "Jesus Christ kid you just found out that angels are real and your concerned about a nickname?" The blond cut off in another fit of laughter before adding, "To answer your question, apparently the big guy doesn't actually like pranks that much. And nobody thought to give me the memo."
Feeling slightly idiotic Dipper sat there staring at his keys that he had grabbed for a makeshift weapon, his mind drifting to the fact that his keys would have done nothing even if Bill wasn't some sort of angel.
The brunet looked up to find Bill staring at him in a way that made blood ruh to his face. He then heard Bill say under his breath, "If they call hanging out with him punishment then I should pull pranks more often." Without missing a beat the man smiled and said to Dipper, "I think this is going to be fun!" Before turning and floating into the rest of the house making himself perfectly at home.
Dipper knew that this was going to a a long rest of his life.
