Kaitlyn's POV
Evangeline and the twins were playing with each other on the other side of the room. Alex came in and sat next to me. I could tell he was kind of stiff. He watched them with a smile and turned to me, taking a breath in.
"Kaitlyn... I don't want to do this. I just... When I gave you the twins I told you to raise them. But seeing then now... seeing how much they resemble Angela... I don't want to..," He trailed off, looking for words.
"You want your kids back." I said.
"I do Kaitlyn. I really, really do. But I don't want to take them from you. I feel like that would hurt you and Shawn." I looked at Alex right in the eye. I realised that Shawn had been standing at the threshold, listening to the whole conversation.
K: Shawn? What are your thoughts?
S: I mean we aren't their legal guardians. He is their dad. We can't really say no.
K: We're going to have to change their memories.
S: They will be okay.
K: But I won't.
"They are your kids. We can't control if you want them back or not. We aren't even their legal guardians," I said quickly. I tried to swallow the lump that was forming in my throat but it got bigger. A huge smile pulled across Alex's lips and he pulled me into a bone crushing hug. I couldn't help but smile at how happy he was.
"Thank you, sis. It means a ton."
"No problem. I'm just gonna go take a shower. I've got an interview tomorrow in New York for Buzzfeed. I wanna be nice and clean." I walked towards the stairs and ran up them. I ran to my bedroom. I closed the door, sliding down it as I started sobbing.
I heard a knock on the door and Shawn's voice saying it was him. I slid away from the door and let him in. When he saw me he fell to the floor to comfort me.
"I love them so much Shawn. I don't wanna let them go."
"I know angel, but we have to. They aren't ours to keep." I turned so I could hold onto Shawn's shoulders. I cried on his shoulder as he held me tight. He was sad about it too. He absolutely adores the girls. "But soon we'll have our own. No one can take our own from us. Remember that, okay?" I nodded.
He was right. I was pregnant, possibly with twins. No one could take our own kid from us. I would make sure of it.
"I actually have to shower though." Shawn loosened his grip on me.
"Do I have to supervise your water temperature?" Shawn asked. I looked down at the floor.
"Maybe..." Shawn stood up and helped me up. He went into the bathroom and turned the shower on. He then sat on the sink and got on his phone.

I stepped into the airport. I only had a small suitcase since I was only staying for one day. I got a peppermint hot chocolate at Starbucks before walking towards the exit. I saw a camera flash, followed by many others. I sighed and the airport security ran over to help me. I was glad I wore one of Shawn's hoodies. It was big on me, so even if my baby bump wasn't super noticeable, people still wouldn't be able to see it.
