Intro
I roll my window down. I was on the way to my hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. After two months of begging, my mom agreed to let me go to American Idol Live. I was surprised, considering I just turned 17 and only got my license the day before. But she agreed, so I
was ecstatic.
I pull into the parking spot in front of the 5 star resort. My dad worked there, so I got the presidential suite for fifty bucks. I slam my Mustang's door, lock it, and run into the revolving door.
"Hello, ma'am. Welcome to Tulip Gardens. Name?"
"Olivia Grand."
"Oh. Olivia. One moment please." He walks behind the counter and does something on his computer. "Presidential suite?"
"Yes."
"Okay. Alex here will show you to your room."
"Thank you."
"You're very welcome."
Alex walks me to the elevator. He hits the 18th floor button. By the time we pass the 3rd floor, I feel really awkward being alone with him in there, so I ask him, "Do you know where the pool is?"
He turns, startled, and replies, "Well, the main pool is right off the lobby. But, since you're in the presidential room, you will have your own private pool, along with a Jacuzzi."
"Okay," I say, but on the inside I am dancing and screaming like a five year old girl who just got a Barbie Dreamhouse for Christmas.
The elevator dings, and Alex said, "After you. "
I step out into a small hallway. In front of me is a door labeled "Pres. Suite."
Alex puts the card into the slot and opens the door. "I hope this room is to your liking." He hands me the key.
I step in, and instantly lose my breath. In front of me to the left is a kitchen area, complete with stainless steel everything and enough bottles of soda to last me 3 months. I turn my head to the right and see the prettiest couches in the history of ever. And directly ahead is a glass door, which leads to a balcony where I can see all of Birmingham. It is amazing.
"I think this'll work," I said to Alex. He closes the door behind him and I listen for the elevator door. When I hear it close, I throw my bags on the floor and run out onto the balcony. I can hear all the horns and engines of cars beneath me, and feel so happy I throw my arms back and spin around. My long brown hair whips my pink cheeks as I stop. I run back in, still smiling, and jump onto the couch. I take a second to breathe, then I jump back up and run into the bedroom. I throw myself onto the king size bed and rub my face in the white silk sheets.
I stare at the ceiling and think about Sam. God, he's gorgeous. Anticipation is killing me right now.
I can't wait. All that's left now is to go to sleep, and wake up to the best day ever. So, I close my eyes and drift to sleep.
