I sat at home tired, annoyed and just plain feeling horrible for myself. It was almost two am and he still wasn’t back. He didn’t even answer the text I sent him three hours ago.
Its been a week since Mackenzie has been here and so far every day after work he would hang out with her. Not me. I mean we don’t do much anyway except wanting to go bowling which we were supposed to do today., then go see a movie a real date.
He promised me, and he missed my graduation I had today too. Its almost summer and I am just so worried I cant even breath right now. Tears rolled down my face and I started crying. I looked at my cap and gown with a camera next to it so I can make a memory with him.
I cant seem to do anything right…I heard laughing and kissing which made me feel sick to my stomach. I jumped hearing my phone go off, I saw it was stokes and got worried. I answered it but I was crackled. “stokes?....stokes…its me Ree” I said and he answered garbled.
“Tim……….scap…….ra…..ru….shit..” He said and I frowned smacking my phone hanging up feeling my stomach drop as the lights flickered.
“Shit shit shit..wheres his gun?” I mumbled looking through his stuff. I frowned finding it and clicked the safety on. “idiot..” I mumbled changing into skinny jeans and my black t shirt with my hair in a French braid. “so..tim might’ve escaped and he was telling me to run….huh…” I mumbled pulling my knee high boots on. “well now im talking to myself great…thank you jasers” I said jasers with mackenzies voice over exaggerated and starting laughing a bit.
“now I just wait” I said standing up and putting my hands on my hips using jasons hip holster. I wasn’t expecting him home anytime soon. I heard a knock and pulled the gun out. “whoever is out there can just fucking leave right now I have a gun!” I yelled and heard an uproar of laughter. Really Jason? Bring her here again…well you know what fuck this….
I opened the door to them falling backwards laughing. It was irddiculous and I smelled alcohol. “back…away…” Jason said in his drunk voice laughing harder and I sighed and shot the gun once making him jump falling over himself.
“leaving a gun here with an upset girlfriend was a bad idea Jason and you know it…I know how to shoot and im not afraid you know that better then anyone…mackenzie nice meeting you but you better leave my last inch of patience is wearing thinner” I said and she blinked at me shocked with a smirk she dusted her pants off.
“was waiting for you to do something doll…jasons an idiot…but he has a good girl by his side…took you long enough-“ She started before I was grabbed from behind and gasping. Jason sobered up slowly and saw what was behind me with a knife to my neck.
“Shit..romeo..and tim…fucking ay…leave her alone rome..” Jason said slowly and the knife cut my neck a bit.
“this…stokes…told me…why…I had gun…if you were here you would have known that” I said with tears rolling down my face as I elbowed romeo in the chest and flipped him over me. “You also would have known I took a couple karate classes” I said putting my foot on romeos neck. “so tell me Jason and Mackenzie was it worth it?” I asked with angry eyes Mackenzie looked startled.
“ree…nothing happened…I swear” He said holding his hands up and held the gun over romeo he tried to move but I pressed down harder wit my foot.
“For fucks ske you were gone for a week getting drunk and coming home late then you missed my graduation for fucks sake! Just go if you want to go with her…and just leave me the hell alone..” I said shooting romeos knee caps. I kicked him out the door and slammed it shut to Jason knocking on the door like crazy.
I sank down crying and he stopped banging on the door. “ree..please let me in its been years since I saw Mackenzie and I went a little crazy ok?...im sorry for missing your graduation…” He said softly and I looked up from my hands and grabbed one of his cigerettes lighting it.
“yeah…sure….” I said softly as I smoked my first cigarette and maybe not my last. “did I even stand a chance?” I asked numbly. “did I Jason? When we first met…I mean honestly..” I said trying not to cry again.
“yes we still do..i promise…just give me another chance…” He begged softly and I took another drag of the cigarette. “I promise ill prove to you how much you mean to me every day of our lives together”
