The Forever Games

Chapter 1
Our district is very poor and dull with life.The name of our district is district 6 we are the hunters of the clan.We have a great wide acre full of life.Life such as rabbits,deers and birds.Special birds such as repeaters, they are in the family of parroys but instead of speaking human words they whistle instead.My mother was a great hunter bound to kill anything her bows made contact with, killing it with just one shot.With the cause of her passing down her gene's I am also a great hunter as she was.My mother used to be my hunting partner telling me everything I should know.But then the incedent happened and it was as if it was yesterday I remember it clean and clear. It was a beautiful day and me and my mother had decided to go hunting in the mountain side of the meadow. Out of no where a large male mountain lion pounced on me and my mother(my mother mostly) but the weight of the fearsome animal broke my small fragile shoulder in what felt like a mill on shards of bone. I hear my mother screaming for me to roll from under the grasp of the massive beast and grab her arrows. So I did what I was told but not having much experience in shooting her large bow. With me now getting the hang of it I was too late the lion had already tore the meat from her small goers leaving her limp and lifeless now charging towards me. I took aim and carefully but quick released the bow into the mountain lion heart before it could crush me.With the cause of ,e being fragile and small I had to carry/drag the 200 pound mountain lion home. this was the most food we ever had in ages. Leaving us not starving for 6 weeks. I had to sell some to have some money to biy other foods and not just eat meat everyday. I can never forget my first kill and the death of my mother. The only memory u have left of her is a gold pin with the repeater bird positioned like its ready to take off. The one thing I promised my mom I would do before her death was take care of Rose my younger sister, who I loved dearly.
