1: Help The Stranger

"Carmen!!!" My mom yelled from down stairs

"I'm coming!!!" I yelled back as I grabbed my backpack and walked down the steps and tried to walk to the door but my mom stopped me

"Oh my goodness you look beautiful Carmen" My mom said as she kissed me on the top on my head

As I backed away I looked at mom's arm and realized she had a bruise on it

"How you get that bruise on your arm?, don't tell me dad did that to you" I said as I put a strand of my light brown hair behind my ear

"Carmen look" My mom started to say but I fast-ly interrupted

"He did didn't he?, He's such a asshole and I can't believe he treats you that way for him to be your husband" I said as I raised my voice

"Carmen language!!!" My mom yelled at the top of her lungs

"Look sorry but i have to go" I said as I walked out of the front door and got inside of my uncles truck and pouted as I put my seat belt on

"Carmen I'm sorry" My mom shouted as my uncle pulled off and we was on the road to his house

"So what did your mother do to you?" Uncle Sam asked

"She let my dad abuse her and I don't understand, the next time he lays a hand on her I swear I'm gonna snap" I said as I balled up my hands

"Wait he's abusing her?" Uncle Sam said as he stopped at a red light

"Yes and she fails to realize that, I'm sixteen about to turn seventeen next month and my mom is thirty one and I know better" I stated

"Imma have to talk to her about that" Uncle Sam said as he pulled in his driveway

I jumped out of the truck and was about to go into Uncle Sam's house but then he stopped me

"Carmen I-uh have been having a problem with my trucks wheels so can you be a doll and change them for me? Uncle Sam said making me sigh and smile as I walked over to his truck "I'll pay you fifty dollars Carmen"

"Okay fine I'll do it, only because I'm trying to save up so I can go to Georgia for my birthday not because I want to" I said as I sat my bag down on the ground next to Uncle Sam's truck

"The tools are in the garage and if you need me I'll be inside" Uncle Sam said as he walked inside of his house

I sighed as I walked inside the garage and took Uncle Sam's tool bag and brought it outside and started working on the wheels of the truck

As I was working this guy on a skateboard dressed in black pants and white shirt along with a brown jacket fell on the sidewalk so I went over and helped

"Dude are you okay?" I asked as I walked over to him as he was on the ground and was holding his stomach

"Yeah but I hit my stomach pretty hard on the sidewalk" He said as he lifted up his shirt that exposed a cut that was covered in blood

"Hey stay here I'll be right back" I said as I ran and burst into my Uncle Sam's house

"Carmen you scared the hell out of me!" Uncle Sam said but I didn't pay him no mind as I was to busy trying to help the guy that was hurt on the sidewalk. I ran into the kitchen and got a ice pack and some paper towels and ran back outside to the guy

"Okay hold this on that so I can wipe the blood away" I said as I gave him the ice pack and he put it on his cut as I started wiping the blood away

"What's your name?" The guy asked as he smiled at me

"Carmen" I said as I kept wiping the blood away as it continued to pour out like a ketchup packet

"What's your full name?" The guy asked

"Carmen Hailey Clarkson but, my real name is Halsey" I said

"Halsey I like it" the guy said as he smiled

"We what's your name?" I asked

"Leo" Leo said "Hey would you like to come to my place for a bit and watch a movie?"

"Uh sure" I said as I lifted Leo off the ground

"So where is your house?" I asked

"Down the street" Leo said as we started walking down the street
