Chapter 8,
Zayn's POV
At three in the damn morning, Paul called my lame excuse of a phone. I didn't answer the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth time he called, but I picked up the seventh time. I quickly hung up once I heard his stupid voice on the other end, but that still counts as picking up, right?
The eighth time, I muttered an impolite "fuck you", but he didn't seem to mind at all.
"Zayn, I hope all is going well-"
"You called at three in the damn morning-"
"Time difference," Paul explained and I smacked my forehead against my pillow, putting my cheap little phone on speaker.
"Can I get a new phone?" I whined and Paul laughed, but it sounded like he was underwater from the poor quality of my phone's speakers.
"No, you only have enough minutes a month to talk to me," Paul repeated and I groaned.
"What do you want?"
"I need to tell you that by next week, the paparazzi will be on the hunt for you, so be careful and-"
"Goodnight," I hoarsely whispered and hung up. I don't want to waste all of my minutes or anything. I had almost shut my eyes when I saw Deelana in her room through my bedroom window. She was crouched over her iPad in the dark and her eyes were half-open. I couldn't help my prying eyes from peeking through the puke-colored curtains.

Deelana's POV
I took the hottest shower ever, but my doorbell interrupted me. I let it ring, but when it rang consistently, I assumed it was my dad that had forgotten his keys. I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in a green towel. I hurried to the ringing front door and unlocked it, holding the door open for my dad...
BUT IT WAS NOT MY DAD!
"Can we talk?" My boyfriend asked and I tightened my towel.
"Sure," I decided and guided him over to the living room sofa, closing the door gently behind him. He looked perfect in his blue ripped jeans and plaid shirt that flaunted his biceps, but something was off. I sat next to him on the couch, intertwining our fingers as he sighed relentlessly.
"Deelana, there's something that I've been meaning to tell you-"
"Spit it out," I demanded and pursed my lips. I hate surprises and unexpected things! I'm still upset about last night, but something is wrong.
"I have been thinking that maybe we should take a break," he began and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"What? Why?" I grumbled and he bit his lip.
"If you really don't want to, we can keep trying. I don't know why I came here. I have been battling things in my mind lately and-" Jake was beginning to sweat, which grossed me out.
"Why are you panting?" I wondered and Jake sat up straighter. He massaged his face roughly with his hands and left. He left! Stood up and walked out! I put clothes on as fast as I could, but he got into his car and drove away at a much faster rate. There's something going on and I'm missing a large portion of the pieces.
Sitting down on my bed, I turned on my television and called Morgan and Dylan to take the day off work.
Why would he want to break up with me? What have I done to him? I devote my time and love to this relationship- well, I wouldn't say love. I don't love him because I can't just throw that word around. Love means something different to me, than it does to everyone else.
