After months of dating, Chandrakant and Amity became mates and are expecting their first child. Amity underwent the ritual to take on Chandrakant's longevity. In a sense, the baby would be a pure demon.
Of course, three times an uncle but never a father, Chandrakant is nervous. He now understands why his father worried a lot. Expecting a child is never easy.
With Amity's help, along with the rest of his family, Chandrakant has improved his ability to show his emotions. In fact, one wouldn't be able to tell if he had once been so closed in. That was a fact that Chandrakant took pride in. It was his deepest fear that he would fall back into those old ways of feeling.
Shortly after Molahs's death, Trinity gave birth to a beautiful, little girl. She was named Ariel. Naturally, Akiva adored her immediately. He would have loved a son, but not as much as a daughter.
It was Akiva's belief that, while sons were raised to carry on family traditions, daughters were doted on until they grew up and wanted to get married. It had been that way when his older daughter was born. Of course, Ariel's older sister had problems adjusting to no longer being an only child. But, that soon ebbed due to the latter being an independent, or so she believes, teenager.
Takai graduated college. He now works with underprivileged kids. Some days are hard, but he muscles through. Helping the destitute makes the struggle worth it.
Alongside him is his college girlfriend of two years, Tanya. They are currently living in an apartment in New York City. Tanya is responsible for financing. Takai plans to propose later in the night.
Ioyazi later grew up to be a scientist. She is currently studying the effects of brain damage. Her younger sister, Ariel, visits her lab on occasion with their parents. She works alongside the man she met in medical school and fell in love with, Noah.
Ioyazi now lives with Noah in an old house near the laboratory. She and Noah have been...intimate with one another since a month after their first date. She sometimes dreams of being mated to Noah, which often distracts her from her scientific duties. Little does she know that Noah has bought an engagement ring and plans to propose later in the week.
Of course, she still sees her family from time to time. Naturally, her father is a bit overprotective and had 'the talk' with Noah. What was said was basically that if Noah did anything to hurt Ioyazi, he can expect to be tortured until he dies. Needless to say, Noah fears for his life anytime Ioyazi breaks down in tears.
Much to his father's admiration, Erudite decided to dabble in history. He later became an archeologist to study the history of long extinct civilizations. True to form, Erudite favors Egyptology in lieu of any other. This very fact pleases his father to no end.
In addition, Erudite fell in love with his workaholic co-worker, Helen. Much to his mother's disappointment, Helen and Erudite decided, after six months of dating, to elope. The elopement didn't really bother Erudite's father rather than his mother. The half demoness was never one to want to miss the important aspects of her family's life.
Nevertheless, Erudite and Helen didn't care. What they did care about was that they were married and were doing something they loved. Currently, the couple are expecting their first child. Despite pregnancy, Helen insists on continuing her work as long as she's able.
Serena grew to be a beauty beyond compare. Of course, she never bragged or was narcissistic about it. She was never vain, either. In fact, Serena practically ignored her beauty and opted for brains instead.
Like her elder brother, Serena decided to study teaching. However, she wanted a doctorate in ancient history. She is now a college professor. Her lectures pertain to ancient Egypt, Persia, Greece, Rome, etc. due to the fact that they no longer thrive.
Much like her twin brother, Serena's choice of career does nothing but cause her father to beam from ear to ear. Of course, nothing her or her brothers could do would do otherwise. Honoring their heritage only gave a small contribution to that. To acknowledge their roots did help the new patriarch be proud of them.
Hessa gave birth to a boy. She and Nothile decided to name him Molahs, after her father. Having sired a healthy child made Nothile proud. He adored being a father due to the...adventure they bring.
Nothile, almost immediately after his father-in-law's death, became the patriarch of the family. To most, the job would seem to be overcoming. However, for Nothile, it was the missing piece to an ancient puzzle that was once his life.
Rarely a day passed that Nothile didn't pine for the past. However, he truly loved his family. Somehow, he couldn't help but wonder what could have been. Then, he would remind himself that, had he or Pharaoh Amenemhet never met Ankhsetha, he would have remained human and died a natural death as an old, old man.
Growing old didn't have as much appeal as it used to. In ancient Egypt, the elderly were revered because they were old. Back then, the elderly were considered wise. Now, Nothile hated the idea of becoming old but didn't think much on it due to his immortality.
From time to time, Hessa and Nothile do reflect on how they met and how glad they are that they did. No doubt was held in their minds that, had the death deity and ex-High Priest never met Serina, neither he nor Hessa would be together. What amazed them was that, through trials and tribulations, they were still together. Sometimes, love can be the most powerful force of all.
Never before has a somewhat reasonably realistic romance been regaled. Most fairy tales are laced with nonsense like love at first sight and true love's first kiss. Though this was somewhat more representative of what love is actually like, it is a fairy tale. The most obsessive part of romantic fairy tales is the ending with 'and they all lived happily ever after.'
The reality is this: there is never a 'happily ever after.' Real love is wrought with strains, tests, trials, and tribulations at every turn. What most fairy tales don't mention is that there is life after the 'happily ever after.' Life after 'happily ever after' is what this fairy tale has been about.
When you love someone, you usually have to fight if you want it to work. Like Serina and Nothile, there are going to be people that get in the way. However, if you really care about them, the logical course of action is to keep fighting. Love is worth fighting for.
Like Nothile and Serina-Hessa, love comes in all shapes and sizes. It can come from different backgrounds. So, in short, don't be afraid to love someone or let someone love you. My wish for you: to find your Dearest Moon or Sun And Stars.
