"I'm pregnant."

My initial reaction to my sister's confession was no shock there. While my mother began hyperventilating and my step dad Carl's face turned red with anger, all I could think about was, she got what she deserved.

You're probably thinking I'm some horrible, spiteful sister.

Well that is partly true, however I am a bloody saint compared to my darling sister Sadie. Lets just say my sister was a very promiscuous girl. In other words she was the resident slut of our school. I'm not exaggerating when I say she's probably slept with half the guys in her year and probably my year too.

The funny thing was, my step dad and mum were completely and utterly clueless when in comes to their own daughter. To them she is a perfect angel, an innocent virgin; props to my sister for being able to pull that off. She was a world-class actress when in came to playing the perfect child. She would use excuse after excuse and they never suspected a thing.

Instead they focused all their negative energy on the problem child...me. They were too busy haiving a go at me for my poor effort at school and my bad attitude, that they missed what was right under their noses. Just because I dressed in black and had my nose pierced, they thought I was the devil.

Carl has seen me as the devil from the moment I was born. I was a constant reminder of my mother's affair. It didn't help that I took after my father in the looks department with my red hair and grey eyes.

I didn't feel any sympathy towards Sadie as tears poured down her face, while my step dad exploded with anger. She was a self-obsessed bitch, and everyone knew it. Hell, even my five year old brother knew it.

I was currently debating whether I should go and join my brother in watching my all time favourite show, teenage mutant ninja turtles, or stay in this family soap opera. As much as I loved my cartoons, watching my sister get shouted at, was too entertaining to miss.

Besides there was still one thing we didn't know.

I slumped down onto the sofa, next to my mum who looked just about ready to faint. My step dad eventually stopped yelling and began pacing around the room, muttering furiously to himself.

I then glanced at Sadie's defeated form. "So... who's the father?" The room fell dead silent after my question.

As if right on cue, the door bell rand. I realised no one was showing any signs of moving so I got up and walked to the door. Upon opening the door, I came face to face with a very attractive guy.

He looked bored and had a skateboard tucked between his arm. He had the rugged look with his wild dark hair and strongly chiselled features. His tattoos extended beautifully along his arms.

"I'm River." His icy blue eyes met mine. "I'm looking for-"

"Sadie?" I finished for him. His eyes glazed over me and he smiled and nodded. I didn't smile back and just stared at him.

He looked confused. "Is she in?" he asked, peering behind me.

I smirked. "She's in." I didn't make any signs of moving and continued to inspect him. There was a high probability that this River guy was the father of Sadie's baby.

"Well...are you gonna let me in?" He gave me an annoyed look, but soon turned scared when Carl started yelling again and we heard, "Who's the scumbag that got you pregnant?"

I watched as River's face paled, and his blue eyes widened.

"Well that depends... are you the daddy?" I asked bluntly. His eyes shot up and stared at me in shock.

"Fuck..." he muttered.

I take that as a yes.

I almost felt bad for the guy but then again he must have known Sadie's reputation before sleeping with her. I turned and started walking off. When I heard no footsteps behind me, I peered back and noticed him frozen in the same spot. "You coming or what?"

He slowly stepped forward and began to follow me. Everyone was too involved in arguing that no one noticed us enter. I thought it was only right I introduced our new guest. "Look guys, the babby daddy's here."

Silence filled the room and I looked over at River. The poor guy looked pale as a white sheet.

Everyone was too involved in arguing that no one noticed us enter.

"I'm gonna kill you, how dare you touch my little girl," Carl hollered, charging towards River with a fist in the air. Sadie screamed and my mum begged him to stop but he continued towards River. I decided to save the poor guy by stepping out in front of him, blocking Carl's path.

"Carl, just old on a minute," I reasoned. "Can I just point out that your girl is nowhere near little anymore. If you think River is the first guy your angel has been with, think again. News flash, your daughter's a slut."

Sadie gasped. "You little bitch,' she snarled, shooting daggers at me.

I smiled sweetly. "Truth hurts."

Carl looked wasn't even looking at River anymore. His eyes were directed at Sadie and were filled with confusion and disappointment. "That can't be true."

"The fact is, Sadie was bound to get pregnant one of these days and that day is today," I interjected again. "So why don't you all sit down and deal with it like mature adults," I finished. I was basically the most mature one in the room. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have episode of teenage mutant ninja turtles to catch up on." Oh yeah, real mature.

I turned around and gave River a sympathetic smile. As I walked past him I heard him whisper, "I owe you one Rory."

How did he know my name?
